Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Televisions and electronic waste

Accepted with preparation

Televisions, monitors, computers and printers are free at the Metro Central transfer station through its Oregon E-Cycles desk, up to seven items per person per day.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. Metro is an Oregon E-Cycles location and accepts desktop and laptop computers, printers, televisions, monitors, tablets, keyboards and computer mice at no charge for residential customers, intact or broken, with a limit of seven items per day per person. Get it ready
Wipe personal data before a computer, tablet or phone leaves the house, and keep devices out of the curbside carts. Broken screens are accepted, but packing them so they do not shatter in the vehicle protects the load.

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Fairview.

How much does TV removal cost in Fairview?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Fairview?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Where can I recycle a television in Fairview?

Televisions are free at Oregon E-Cycles collection sites, including eight local sites the city names such as Goodwill stores, and at the Metro Central transfer station, which runs an E-Cycles desk with a limit of seven items a day per person for residential customers.Official guidance

Which electronics are not free to recycle?

The state program covers computers, monitors and televisions, up to seven at a time, and does not provide free recycling for keyboards, mice, speakers, printers, scanners or other electronics and appliances. Metro's own desk is broader and takes printers, keyboards and mice free within its seven item daily limit.Official guidance

How much hazardous waste can a household drop off?

Up to 35 gallons a day measured by container size, free, at the Metro hazardous waste facilities, with Metro Central open Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Metro South open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Businesses need a permit, an appointment and a fee.Official guidance
