Couch & furniture removal in KeizerCity collection Both Keizer haulers take material that does not fit the carts. Loren's junk pickup covers extra garbage, old furniture, tires, appliances, yard waste, construction debris and mattresses, and Valley's special removal and clean up service handles appliances, furniture, tires, e-waste, junk and piles of demolition or yard waste up to ten yards on a free estimate. Neither company publishes an item price for junk pickup: Valley quotes a free estimate by telephone and Loren's prices the load when the pickup is arranged, so confirm the charge and the item list with the hauler that serves the address.

The local disposal guide
Keizer does not collect garbage itself. The city's utility start and stop page splits refuse and recycling between two companies by street area on one lookup map: Loren's Sanitation serves the green areas and Valley Recycling serves the orange areas, and the city publishes a telephone number for each. The package a household gets from either hauler is built the same way, because Marion County's curbside standard applies across the region: a garbage cart, a blue recycling cart collected every other week, a green organics cart collected weekly, and a small red bin for the materials that need separate handling, such as glass, batteries, usable paint, used motor oil, cooking oil and antifreeze. The published rates follow the size of the garbage cart rather than the recycling carts, and the hauler that serves the address is also the one to call for anything the carts will not take. Both Keizer haulers run that second service: Loren's collects extra garbage, old furniture, tires, appliances, yard waste, construction debris and mattresses as junk pickup, and Valley's special removal and clean up service handles appliances, furniture, tires, e-waste, junk and piles of demolition or yard waste up to ten yards on a free estimate, while its containers refuse appliances, tires, car batteries, paint, fluids, concrete, dirt, rock, televisions and computers and collect those separately for a nominal fee. What neither hauler does is take a television, computer or appliance for free inside a container: Oregon E-Cycles covers up to seven computers, monitors, televisions and printers per visit free of charge at participating collection sites, and Marion County charges a per appliance fee for any appliance designed to contain refrigerant because the refrigerant must be removed by a professional first. Self haul runs through three county sites rather than the city: the Salem-Keizer Recycling & Transfer Station on Deer Park Drive, the North Marion station in Woodburn, and the Brown's Island Demolition Landfill, which takes construction material by the cubic yard. All county sites require identification on entry, an unrestrained load carries an added fee, and household hazardous waste is handled separately at the Salem-Keizer station by appointment on Thursdays.

Keizer assigns refuse and recycling by address rather than running a single citywide crew: the city's utility page points to a searchable street map that shows the service areas, with Loren's Sanitation on the green areas and Valley Recycling on the orange areas, and a telephone number for each.

Televisions, computers, monitors and printers go through Oregon E-Cycles, the state program that lets anyone take seven or fewer of those items at a time to a participating collection site for free recycling, with keyboards and mice also free, while other types of electronics are not included. Valley separately refuses televisions and computers in its containers and collects them for a nominal fee.
Construction material does not go in a curbside cart. Both Keizer haulers deliver drop boxes, and Marion County takes construction material at the Brown's Island Demolition Landfill for fifty dollars per cubic yard with a fifty dollar minimum from July 1, 2026, while noting that lightweight material may cost less at the Salem-Keizer station because that site charges by weight.
The handoff matters
Carts and bins go to the curb with the lids opening toward the street no later than 6 a.m. on the regular collection day, with at least four feet of space between containers and any other obstacle so the automated arm can reach them. Both Keizer haulers ask that bins stay off sidewalks and clear of vehicles, mailboxes and each other.
