A mattress or box spring follows the same private route as other bulky household items in Lebanon: removal by a licensed hauler, or a self haul to the county authority under its licence and tipping fee rules.
City cost & eligibility
No municipal mattress rate exists because the city does not collect bulky waste, so confirm the charge with your licensed hauler. The county authority's alternative is the landfill tipping fee of 41 dollars minimum up to 1,000 pounds or 82 dollars per ton plus a residential licence.

Arrange the pickup with your hauler, or take the mattress to the authority landfill during its published gate hours with a current licence.
Get it ready
Keep the mattress dry and count it with the rest of the bulky load rather than with household recycling, which does not accept bedding. Household chemical products must be kept out of the same trip and routed to the county's door collection.
Every customer using the Greater Lebanon Refuse Authority landfill needs a valid licence, issued at the scale house on a two year term. A residential cash customer licence requires current vehicle registration, proof of insurance and a valid driver's licence, and it does not include the tipping fees charged for the load.
The landfill's incoming gate closes at 3:50 p.m. on weekdays and 11:45 a.m. on Saturdays, and every vehicle has to be unloaded and off site by 4 p.m. on weekdays and noon on Saturdays. Open loads of garbage must be covered with a tarp before arrival.

Licensed haulers set their own residential and bulky item rates and the city publishes no tariff, so confirm the price, the collection schedule and what the hauler takes before signing up.
Arrange it
Use a hauler from the licensed list kept at the Department of Public Works, arrange recycling collection at least every two weeks as the ordinance requires, and put recyclables out separately in a marked container.
Haulers may refuse contaminated recyclables, and no hauler is required to take a hazardous product, a tire or construction material, which have their own county and retail routes.

Loads delivered by a customer holding a current authority licence. Open loads must be tarped, and special handling waste requires a pit to be dug and closed immediately after placement.

Self haul in Lebanon County means the Greater Lebanon Refuse Authority and the drop-off network it lists. The authority's landfill takes construction and demolition debris, pre approved residual waste, clean wood excluding particleboard and plywood, and green waste under six inches in diameter, and it charges a tipping fee on top of a two year licence, which costs ten dollars for a residential cash customer and requires current vehicle registration, insurance and a driving licence. Its electronics recycling center on Russell Road takes covered devices free with no licence, five computers or televisions a day, and no help unloading. The authority also operates a recycling drop-off on Russell Road, while the city's own drop-off at 14th and Lehman Streets takes the mandatory recyclables, and Battery Warehouse on Schneider Drive takes lead acid batteries but refuses lithium. Appliances and scrap metal go to CSR-Brandywine on North 14th Street, which charges a freon fee per appliance, and tires are priced by size at the landfill or taken by the local service businesses the city lists. Is my box spring or bed frame included in mattress removal?+

Will you carry my mattress downstairs or out of my apartment?+

Will Lebanon pick up a mattress?+
