Choose by construction, not height alone. A basic desk is different from a heavy desk with a substantial body. A tall, lightweight bookcase can still be a standard bookshelf. Empty it first.

Lebanon does not run a municipal bulky collection. The city ordinance puts all trash and recycling removal in the hands of a licensed waste hauler, so a couch or other large item is arranged with the hauler, or hauled to the county authority under its licence and tipping fee rules.
City cost & eligibility
Licensed haulers set their own bulky item rates and the city publishes none, so confirm the price with your hauler. A self haul to the Greater Lebanon Refuse Authority instead pays the landfill tipping fee of 41 dollars minimum up to 1,000 pounds or 82 dollars per ton, plus a biennial residential licence.
When & how
Call your licensed hauler to arrange the pickup, because the city does not collect bulky waste itself. A self haul has to reach the authority landfill before the incoming gate closes at 3:50 p.m. on weekdays or 11:45 a.m. on Saturdays, with the vehicle unloaded and off site by 4 p.m. or noon.
Get it ready
Cover open loads with a tarp, because the authority requires it, and keep construction and demolition debris, green waste and residual waste in the categories the authority actually accepts. Keep nothing hazardous in a bulky load, since household chemicals leave through the county's at your door programme instead.
Every customer using the Greater Lebanon Refuse Authority landfill needs a valid licence, issued at the scale house on a two year term. A residential cash customer licence requires current vehicle registration, proof of insurance and a valid driver's licence, and it does not include the tipping fees charged for the load.
