Mattresses are not named on the city's bulk list or on its refused list. The bulk service covers large items that do not fit the 95 gallon cart, so a mattress should qualify, but the city publishes no mattress line, which makes this a confirm rather than a promise.

Confirm the mattress with Frontier Waste on 936-258-9035 when the monthly pickup is booked, and ask whether it counts inside the 8 cubic yard allowance. No separate mattress charge is published.
When & how
Book the bulk pickup at least two business days ahead, then put the mattress within 4 feet of the curb on the scheduled day.

Keep the mattress dry and out of the garbage cart, and keep household trash, construction debris and metal items out of the same pile so the load is not refused.
Bulk collection runs once a month and is a scheduled service, not a standing one. Book it through the Frontier Waste app, the website or 936-258-9035 at least two business days ahead, check the bulk and brush map for your collection week, and keep the load inside 8 cubic yards per customer. Bulk and brush go within 4 feet of the curb, and no household waste rides with the load.
Garbage and recycling carts go out on the same service day but are emptied by different trucks, so placement matters: lids facing the street, wheels closest to the curb, at least 4 feet of clearance from mailboxes, fire hydrants, vehicles and other obstacles, and everything at the curb by 6:30 a.m. Carts are stored behind the front of the house or in the garage, never in the front yard, and they belong to the hauler rather than the household.

Conroe households have two self-haul style routes and one scheduled curbside route. The curbside route is the monthly bulk and brush pickup, booked at least two business days ahead with Frontier Waste on 936-258-9035, limited to 8 cubic yards per customer and placed within 4 feet of the curb, with household waste, construction debris, tires, concrete, lumber, pallets, computers and televisions all refused. A Freon appliance only goes out with a licensed technician's removal certificate taped to the front. The drop-off route is the Conroe and North Montgomery County Recycle Center at 142 W. Wally Wilkerson Parkway, a joint City of Conroe and Montgomery County facility that requires sorted, clean material and is the site the city names for appliances as well as recyclables; its published hours come from a 2018 pamphlet, so confirm them on 936-703-0150 before driving. For televisions, computers and other refused items the city points to the Montgomery County recycling centers, and no local acceptance list for those has been verified here, so confirm before the trip.
