We currently accept the doors, toilets and bathroom vanities listed here, already detached and ready outside. Choose each item separately. Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted, including in bags.
Doors
Count each detached door panel separately. Have it removed from its hinges before pickup. A whole installed doorway or garage door is not the same item.
Toilets
Choose Toilet for an ordinary household toilet that has already been disconnected, drained and moved outside. Text a photo before booking if yours is broken or has loose sharp pieces.
Bathroom vanities
Choose the small, standard or large bathroom vanity that matches your sink cabinet. A makeup table has a separate choice. Plumbing disconnection and removal from the wall happen before pickup.

Large construction loads are written out of the bulk and brush program: lumber, drywall, paneling, tile, flooring, siding, concrete, sheet rock, bricks, glass and carpet or area rugs are refused, and the county household chemical center refuses construction debris as well. The city's own route for a full project is a dumpster arranged through the Action Center, while one small do it yourself project is named on the city's large bulk list as something the ten cubic yard allowance takes.
City cost & eligibility
No city rate is published for construction material. The trash page states that the Action Center can assist with scheduling a dumpster for a large commercial or residential project along with the guidelines, so call 972-274-2489 to price the container and confirm what it may hold before the work produces debris.
When & how
Construction material has no curbside day. A project load needs its own container arranged in advance through the Action Center, and the pile cannot borrow the household's bulk week.
Get it ready
Keep large construction material out of the bulk and brush pile: lumber, drywall, paneling, tile, flooring, siding, concrete, sheet rock, bricks, glass and carpet are refused, and a mixed pile risks the whole load being left behind. The city does name one small do it yourself project on its large bulk list, such as a toilet, a small cabinet and sink, fence panels, interior doors, or molding and baseboards cut into four foot lengths with nails removed or hammered down, and that fits inside the ten cubic yard allowance. Keep hazardous products out of the debris as well and route them to the county collection center.
Tires, batteries, carpet, electronics and construction never ride the bulk truck
The bulk and brush program refuses vehicle parts, tires, batteries, carpet, flammables, hazardous waste, electronic waste and older mirrored televisions with a hump in the back, along with lumber, drywall, paneling, tile, flooring, siding, concrete, sheet rock, bricks, glass and carpet or area rugs. Cost & conditions
The city page describes the Dallas County network membership and the accepted materials without publishing a charge for the drop off, so confirm the current terms on 214-553-1765 or through the Action Center on 972-274-2489 before loading the vehicle.
Arrange it
Drive to 11234 Plano Road in Dallas with a driver's license and a DeSoto water or utility bill as proof of residence. The center opens Tuesdays from 9 am to 7:30 pm, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 am to 5 pm and the second and fourth Saturdays from 9 am to 3 pm, and it is closed Mondays, Fridays and Sundays. The city also hosts its own one day collection event each spring.
Business waste, containers larger than five gallons, explosives and ammunition, shock sensitive materials, smoke detectors and other radioactive material, common trash or recyclables, construction debris, electronics or appliances other than computers and cell phones, and medical waste are all refused.

A project load of construction material cannot go into the bulk or brush pile, the recycling cart or the county chemical center, although the city names one small do it yourself project as an acceptable large bulk item inside the ten cubic yard allowance, and commercial properties have to arrange bulk or brush service directly with Republic rather than through the residential allowance.

Can I get same-day toilet or vanity pickup in DeSoto?+
Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup, where available. Checkout shows the dates you can choose. Can a door, toilet and vanity go in the same pickup?+
Yes. Add each listed fixture separately and choose the correct vanity size. Each detached door panel counts as one item. The combined price appears before you book. Keep the fixtures together outside, separate from anything staying, and add a location photo on your order page.

Who collects trash and bulk items in DeSoto?+
Republic Services collects for the city as the primary waste provider, and the DeSoto Action Center handles questions, missed pickups and project containers on 972-274-CITY, which is 972-274-2489. Trash runs twice a week on Monday and Thursday or Tuesday and Friday, recycling runs every Wednesday, and the bulk and brush program is attached to the household water account because the sanitation charge rides on that bill.Official guidance
How do I know which week my bulk collection falls in?+
The city divides DeSoto into four quadrants that a map assigns by address, and each quadrant is served once a month in order: quadrant one the first week of the month, quadrant two the second week, quadrant three the third week and quadrant four the fourth week, with the cycle repeating the next month.
