The local disposal guide
Edinburg collects everything itself: the Department of Solid Waste Management is the exclusive provider of solid waste and recycling service inside the city limits, so a private hauler may not collect without written authorization, and the department runs the automated residential garbage and recycling collection, the brush and bulky item cycle, roll off collection and the Edinburg Regional Landfill. Bulk items such as furniture, appliances, rugs, water heaters and mattresses go out with the brush cycle by Sunday night before the scheduled week, construction debris from a resident's own small remodeling is allowed only four times a year, and the landfill takes household waste and yard trimmings free with proof of residency.
