$12.08 for the published monthly residential rate for the 95 gallon container, which covers the brush and bulky item cycle. City of Edinburg residential water customers inside the city limits, with the city as the exclusive provider of solid waste service.
When & how
Put the set on the parkway in front of the home a few feet from any brush pile by Sunday night before the scheduled collection week, or take it to the landfill free with proof of residency.
Get it ready
Keep the set dry and out of the cart, keep it clear of mailboxes, poles and low wires, and keep it separate from the brush pile.
Carts go to the edge of the curb rather than into the street by 7 a.m. on the collection day, at least 4 feet from mailboxes, other containers and obstructions, clear of parked cars and low tree limbs or wires, with nothing stacked in front of, on top of or beside the container because stacked material interferes with collection.
Brush and bulky items go on the parkway in front of the home only and have to be out by Sunday night before the scheduled collection week, the crews make one pass per neighborhood, and material placed after the crews pass is not collected. Branches have to measure between 3 and 6 feet and be no thicker than 6 inches, stacked neatly with cut ends toward the street, and must not be tied or bundled for the free program.
Household waste and yard trimmings are free at the Edinburg Regional Landfill with proof of residency, which means a picture identification showing the current address plus a utility bill, including NAWS and SWSC, showing payment of city garbage service. The free exception does not cover rocks, dirt, construction material and similar waste, which are charged at the gate rate, and an uncovered load carries an added charge.
