Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Televisions

Special rules apply

Televisions are named nowhere on the Killeen pages, so the set has to be confirmed before it is set out or hauled to the station.

City cost & eligibility
No retained Killeen page names a television or an electronics drop-off, and the Transfer Station's accepted list covers brush, construction and demolition debris, furniture, grass clippings, household garbage, leaves and yard waste rather than devices. Confirm the set with the Solid Waste Division on 254-501-7785 before it goes out, and ask whether it can be quoted into the special collection at the curb or has to go to the Transfer Station.
When & how
Confirm the route first, then use the scheduled garbage day if the city agrees or the Transfer Station on State Highway 195 during its opening hours.
Get it ready
Keep the screen whole and dry, wipe anything that stores data, keep the remote and cords with the set, and keep it clear of the pile's obstacles if it is going to the curb.

The handoff matters

Right item.
Right place.

One container, one weekly day and a six bag yard waste limit

Killeen splits into four collection areas with garbage service on a Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday route, and the monthly garbage fee for a 96-gallon container is $19.78. Included in that fee are one weekly collection of garbage or rubbish in the city roll-out container and one weekly collection of yard waste, which is leaves, grass clippings and shrub trimmings in bags only with a six bag limit. Containers go out no earlier than 8 p.m. the evening before and no later than 7 a.m. on the collection day, placed at or near the driveway about four feet from any mailbox, obstacle or other container with the wheels and handle towards the residence.

What the curb refuses, and what the Transfer Station takes

Boats, camper shells, dirt, hazardous waste material, lead acid batteries, liquid waste of any kind, machinery containing oil or gas such as engines and lawn mowers, rock, tires, and construction and demolition debris are all prohibited at the curb. They belong at the Killeen Transfer Station on State Highway 195, which accepts brush, construction and demolition debris, furniture, grass clippings, household garbage, leaves and yard waste, and refuses asbestos, fertilizers, hazardous waste, liquids, medical waste, other TCEQ-prohibited special waste, pesticides, septic waste and animal carcasses. Customers bring a valid ID and a current Killeen water bill showing active solid waste service, an unsecured load draws a $26.25 surcharge, and recycling at the station covers appliances such as stoves, water heaters, washers and dryers.

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Killeen.

How much does TV removal cost in Killeen?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Killeen?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Where does a television go in Killeen?

That has to be confirmed, because no Killeen page names televisions or an electronics programme. The Transfer Station accepts brush, construction and demolition debris, furniture, grass clippings, household garbage, leaves and yard waste, and the curbside special collection covers bulky waste such as furniture, grills and lawn furniture, so call the Solid Waste Division on 254-501-7785 and ask which route applies to a television before setting it out.Official guidance
