Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

  1. Arrange any unmounting first.

Dropcurb does not remove TVs from walls or do indoor carrying. Arrange the help you need before pickup day, including the trip down interior stairs or through an elevator.

  2. Choose a permitted outdoor spot.

Use a stable, accessible location with a clear path for loading. Keep the TV separate from anything staying. Check building rules before placing it in a shared pickup area.

  3. Show us the TV that is going.

Add a location photo and access notes after booking. Follow the readiness instructions in your confirmation. For exposed broken glass or unusual damage, send a photo and check with us before booking.

Special rules apply

Televisions and glass are refused in the bulky service and electronics are refused in the recycling cart, so the published route is the household hazardous waste collection event.

City cost & eligibility
Electronics are refused in the bulky pile and in the recycling cart, and the published route is the city household hazardous waste collection event on Saturday, October 24 at the Solid Waste Complex, which lists electronics as accepted and publishes fees only for tires, so confirm any charge or limit when you call 254-298-5000 before loading a television.
When & how
The household hazardous waste collection event runs Saturday, October 24 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 2611 E. Ave. H, the Solid Waste Complex, with surrounding events listed by the Central Texas Council of Governments.
Get it ready
Wipe the drive or remove the storage before handover, keep the device out of the bulky pile and out of the recycling cart, and keep containers five gallons or less with no more than 15 gallons per customer because the event is a contactless drive through where containers are not returned.

Household hazardous waste collection event

A household with chemicals, batteries, electronics or tires that the curbside routes refuse.

Cost & conditions
No charge. Free to households at the collection event, with containers five gallons or less and a limit of 15 gallons per customer. Tires are the published exception: the first four tires 17 inches and under are free, then 5 dollars each at that size, 8 dollars each from 18 to 22.5 inches and 17 dollars each at 22.5 inches and above.
Arrange it
Drive to the Solid Waste Complex at 2611 E. Ave. H on Saturday, October 24 between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m., stay in the vehicle for the contactless drive through, and hand the material over without expecting the containers back.

Motor oil, cooking oil and water based paint are taken at the complex year round during business hours instead of waiting for the event, and electronics are accepted at the event but refused in the bulky pile and the recycling cart.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Temple keeps the household routes on the curb and puts the hard items on a calendar. A household schedules one brush pickup and one bulky item pickup a month through 254-298-5000 or ttxconnect.com, with the pile out by 7 a.m. on the Monday of the collection week and brush kept in a separate pile, and each pickup covers up to six cubic yards. Everything the bulky service refuses moves to the Solid Waste Complex at 2611 E. Ave. H: the city holds a household hazardous waste collection event there on Saturday, October 24 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. that takes electronics, chemicals, batteries and tires, with the first four tires 17 inches and under free and the larger or additional tires charged, and motor oil, cooking oil and water based paint are accepted there all year during business hours. Brush can also be dropped at the complex year round. General household cleanup can go to the Temple Landfill at 706 Landfill Road, where a resident with a current water utility bill showing the residential garbage rate gets one free dump a month for a pickup load or less, excluding mattresses and any remodeling, demolition, building or roofing material, with the load covered and tarped and a safety vest worn on site. City of Temple Solid Waste Complex

Brush year round, motor oil, cooking oil and water based paint year round during business hours, and the city's shred, bulky drop off and household hazardous waste events, including electronics and tires at the hazardous waste event.

The published pages do not list business hours for the complex and do not state a fee for a bulky drop off, so confirm what is accepted at the gate and whether anything is charged. Hazardous waste event containers must be five gallons or less, the total is limited to 15 gallons per customer and containers are not returned.

The hazardous waste, bulky drop off and shred events all run on published Saturdays, with the next being the bulky drop off on September 19 followed by the household hazardous waste event on October 24 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Call the Solid Waste Division at 254-298-5000 to confirm the complex hours and whether a drop off or event carries a charge, because the pages publish fees only for tires at the collection event.

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Temple.

How much does TV removal cost in Temple?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Temple?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Where do Temple televisions and computers go?

To the household hazardous waste collection event at 2611 E. Ave. H on Saturday, October 24 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., which lists electronics among the accepted materials. The bulky service refuses glass, mirrors and televisions, and the recycling cart refuses electronics, so the event is the route.Official guidance

What events does the city hold?

Ave. H. The hazardous waste event runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and takes electronics, chemicals, batteries and tires.Official guidance

What belongs in the recycling cart?

Aluminium and metal cans, boxes without liners or food, junk mail, magazines, corrugated cardboard, newspapers, office paper, telephone directories, detergent boxes and plastic beverage containers, milk jugs and rinsed detergent bottles, with plastics limited to codes 1, 2 and 5, placed loose rather than bagged. Electronics, glass, tires, batteries, hazardous waste containers, medical waste, wood and yard waste are refused.Official guidance
