When & how
Set the mattress out on a normal collection day in the four cubic yard bulky pickup, out no earlier than 7 p.m. the day before and no later than 7 a.m. on the day.
Get it ready
Keep the mattress dry and inside the four cubic yard limit, and keep it in the bulky pile rather than with bagged yard waste, because the city asks that bagged household trash and bagged yard waste go out in separate piles. Nothing on the pile, including the mattress, may exceed fifty pounds as a bundle or container.
Bulky items ride a normal collection day, once a week
North Richland Hills has no designated bulk days. Bulky items such as old furniture and appliances go on the curb on any normal collection day and are collected once a week, limited to four cubic yards per collection. Collection is Monday and Thursday south of the railroad tracks and Tuesday and Friday north of the tracks, and nothing goes out before 7 p.m. the day before or after 7 a.m. on the collection day.
Separate the piles and keep the recycling cart clear
Keep bagged household trash in a separate pile from bagged yard waste, and tie every bag before it goes out. Trash and recycling stay at least three feet from mailboxes and five feet from parked vehicles, the recycling cart stays at least three feet from trash and yard waste so the mechanical arm can reach it, and empty cans come off the curb before the end of the collection day.
One free landfill entry a month, with the coupon printed
Each household gets one free entry a month at the Republic Services landfill on Mosier Valley in Euless, and the printed Landfill Coupon with its confirmation number has to be presented with a driver's license. Loads are limited to a standard pickup bed with no side boards or a trailer eight feet long or less, everything has to be secured and covered, and contract loads, roofing material, hazardous waste, lead acid batteries, used oil filters, liquids and pesticides are refused.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.
