Bulk items and brush are collected every week on the same regular day as trash and recycling. Brush does not have to be tied and bundled but must be no more than four feet long and fifty pounds, and the stack may not be larger than three by three by three.
City cost & eligibility
No charge. Bulk and brush collection is part of the residential service the City publishes rates for, with loads up to 3 cubic yards of brush handled on the regular day.

Get it ready
Stack limbs with the trunks parallel to the street and behind the curb so the pile blocks neither the street nor the sidewalk, and keep the stack inside the three foot cube. Hazardous waste, construction material and remodeling debris are never part of the curbside bulk pile.
The 95 gallon trash cart and the 65 gallon recycling cart go out by 7 a.m. within 3 feet of the curb and at least 4 feet from vehicles, structures, mailboxes, poles and fences, with the front facing the street, the handle toward the house and the lid closed. A cart that is overloaded, facing the wrong way, or too close to an obstacle is not serviced.
Brush does not have to be tied and bundled, but each piece must be no longer than 4 feet and no heavier than 50 pounds, and the limbs are stacked with the trunks parallel to the street and behind the curb so the pile blocks neither the street nor the sidewalk. The stack may not be larger than 3 by 3 by 3.

Take the load to the City of Denton Landfill at 1527 S. Mayhill Road in Denton, open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Disposal charges are the resident's responsibility, and the City of Denton landfill publishes its own prohibited item list, so confirm what the load may contain before making the trip.
Watauga's self-haul option is Frontier's Justin hauling location and office at 805 Topeka Ave in Justin, open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., where a resident shows a valid ID and water bill and pays the published per cubic yard rate for a load limited to a pickup truck load or 3 cubic yards. That location takes brush and bulky household items such as furniture, a hot water heater, an old stove, rugs, toys and a mattress, and it refuses paint, aerosol cans, propane tanks, oils and fluids, batteries, tires, chemicals, fertilizers, and refrigerators or air conditioners containing Freon.
