Each household has a gray 95 gallon trash cart and a green 95 gallon recycling cart from the town's hauler. Both go to the kerb before 7:00 a.m. with the wheels toward the curb, three feet apart from each other and clear of obstructions, for collection between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Household trash stays in the gray cart or in up to ten disposable bags, recyclables stay loose in the green cart, and a customer-owned cart left out is treated as bulk trash and removed.
Bulk and yard waste ride the weekly collection day
Up to four cubic yards of bulky waste goes out weekly on the same day as the carts, with no appointment, and yard waste goes out in the same week in kraft bags of forty pounds or less or in tied bundles. Limbs are cut to four feet or less, tied with biodegradable cotton, jute rope, twine or string, with no limb over six inches in diameter and no bundle over fifty pounds. Debris from a commercial landscaping or tree service cannot be left at the kerb or taken to the Saturday drop-off.
