The local disposal guide
Prosper contracts Republic Services for a weekly programme built around two town supplied carts: a gray 95 gallon trash cart and a green 95 gallon recycling cart, both out by 7 a.m. on the service day. The same contract adds weekly yard waste pickup in kraft bags, a weekly bulky collection of up to four cubic yards, and a door-side household hazardous waste and electronics pickup that residents may use once a year at no cost. Bulk and yard waste ride the normal collection day rather than a separate appointment, and the accepted bulky list names furniture, carpet bundled in four foot lengths, fence panels with the nails removed, washing machines, dryers, water heaters, kitchen appliances, refrigerators and freezers carrying a certification of refrigerant removal, and up to ten additional trash bags. Commercial construction and remodelling debris, car parts, tires, batteries, propane tanks, bricks, concrete and household hazardous waste are refused, and extra bulky material can also be dropped at the public works center on Saturday mornings with proof of residency.
