Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

  1. Arrange any unmounting first.

Dropcurb does not remove TVs from walls or do indoor carrying. Arrange the help you need before pickup day, including the trip down interior stairs or through an elevator.

  2. Choose a permitted outdoor spot.

Use a stable, accessible location with a clear path for loading. Keep the TV separate from anything staying. Check building rules before placing it in a shared pickup area.

  3. Show us the TV that is going.

Add a location photo and access notes after booking. Follow the readiness instructions in your confirmation. For exposed broken glass or unusual damage, send a photo and check with us before booking.

Televisions and monitors

Accepted with preparation

Televisions and monitors are accepted through the door-side household hazardous waste and electronics pickup, which a household may use once a year at no cost.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. Town of Prosper residents, limited to one household hazardous waste and electronics pickup every twelve months, with the bags supplied free of charge and used only for that programme.
When & how
Complete the town's household hazardous waste fillable form and email it to prosperhhw@republicservices.com to book the pickup, or call Republic Services at 469-451-3713 to ask questions and request the bags, then leave the material at the door on the scheduled day.
Get it ready
Put the set in a box or the supplied bag as the programme instructs, erase anything stored on it, and keep televisions out of the bulky pile and the recycling cart, because electronics are refused both in the curbside recycling list and in the ordinary bulky collection.

Hazardous waste and electronics are a booked door pickup

The household hazardous waste and electronics programme is a door-side collection rather than a kerb set-out, a household may use it once every twelve months at no cost, and the required bags are supplied free. A pickup is booked by completing the town's fillable form and emailing it to the hauler, with questions and bag requests going to the hauler's phone line, and the material stays out of the carts and the bulky pile until then.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Self hauling in Prosper runs through two places. The town opens a Saturday bulk drop-off at the Prosper Public Works Center, 601 W 5th Street, every Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon, where residents who show a current Prosper utility bill can leave extra trash and bulky items that did not fit the weekly four cubic yard allowance. The other route is the landfill named in the town FAQ, inside the City of Melissa at 3820 Sam Rayburn Highway (SH 121), which charges a fee, has to be confirmed on 469-626-4452 for current costs and hours, and is the only landfill residents may use, because the FAQ states plainly that the Custer Road transfer station in Plano is not available to Prosper residents. Hazardous waste and electronics do not go to either place: they go through the yearly door-side collection booked by emailing the town form to the hauler, with questions and bag requests on Republic Services at 469-451-3713. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Prosper.

How much does TV removal cost in Prosper?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Prosper?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Where does a television go in Prosper?

Through the town's door-side household hazardous waste and electronics programme, which a household may use once a year at no cost. Televisions and monitors are on the accepted electronics list, the bags are supplied free, and the pickup is booked by completing the town form and emailing it to the hauler, with questions going to Republic Services at 469-451-3713. Electronics are not part of the weekly bulky pile or the green recycling cart in Prosper.Official guidance
