Two cubic yards a week on the normal collection day
Rowlett allows up to 2 cubic yards of brush and bulky material a week with no call in required, and the city gives a washer and dryer as the reference size for that allowance. The service runs on the regular solid waste and recycling collection day, the material has to be neatly stacked at the front between the curb and the sidewalk, and it must be out by 7 a.m. There are no alley pickups, and the pile has to stay clear of water meters, fire hydrants, alleys, sidewalks, driveways and roadways. What the acceptable list covers, and its one appliance exception
The city's acceptable list covers all other major household appliances except refrigerator and freezer, furniture, microwaves and other small household appliances, hot water heaters, debris from minor remodelling performed by the resident, and fencing in 4 by 6 foot sections. Bulky waste is defined to include lamps, bicycles, large toys and swing sets, vacuum cleaners, aluminium and plastic resin lawn furniture and rolled carpeting. The unacceptable list covers dirt, rock and concrete, automobile parts, tires and batteries, liquids such as paint, motor oil and solvents, and other hazardous materials such as herbicides, pesticides, fertilizers and pool chemicals.
