Get it ready
Empty the unit of food, trash and debris before it goes to the curb, tape or remove refrigerator doors for the safety of children, drain fuel and oil from any gas powered equipment, and keep refrigerants, motor oil and other household hazardous waste out of the pile because those go to the SPSA Norfolk Transfer Station instead.
Items may be taken to the curb beginning at 5 p.m. the day before collection and no later than 7 a.m. on the collection day, and the 90 gallon container has to be removed from the curb by 11:30 p.m. on the day of collection.
Overflow trash and bulk waste have to be scheduled, and the request has to reach the city no later than 3 p.m. the day before the collection day.
