Match your item

Construction cleanup starts with the right items.

We currently accept the doors, toilets and bathroom vanities listed here, already detached and ready outside. Choose each item separately. Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted, including in bags.

Doors

Count each detached door panel separately. Have it removed from its hinges before pickup. A whole installed doorway or garage door is not the same item.

Toilets

Choose Toilet for an ordinary household toilet that has already been disconnected, drained and moved outside. Text a photo before booking if yours is broken or has loose sharp pieces.

Bathroom vanities

Choose the small, standard or large bathroom vanity that matches your sink cabinet. A makeup table has a separate choice. Plumbing disconnection and removal from the wall happen before pickup.

Construction and renovation debris

Special rules apply

The special pick-up list names debris without defining it, so a renovation load has to be confirmed with the Refuse Division.

City cost & eligibility
The city lists debris among special pick-up items without defining what kinds of debris qualify and publishes no construction rate, so confirm the load, the pile size and any charge with the Refuse Division on 757-514-7630 before putting it out.
When & how
Call 757-514-7630 before the material goes out, and keep the pile within the twelve cubic yard limit and twenty four hours from the collection day if the division confirms it.
Get it ready
Keep the load inside the pile limit, keep household trash bags out of it, keep tree limbs under six feet long and no more than twenty four inches in diameter, and ask the division whether the specific material counts as debris it accepts.

The handoff matters

Right item.
Right place.

Special pick-up is a pile beside the can, not an appointment

Bulky material does not need to be scheduled. Everything goes beside the can no earlier than twenty four hours before the regular collection day, any item placed outside the can counts as a special collection, and household trash bags are not collected as special pick-up. Piles are capped at twelve cubic yards, about six feet by six feet by nine feet, tree limbs have to be under six feet long and no more than twenty four inches in diameter, and a household gets up to twelve special pick-ups a service year at no charge from July 1 to June 30.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Suffolk households self haul through the city's own events rather than a transfer station. The Recycling Drive and Tire Amnesty Day runs through the year at Public Works Operations, 800 Carolina Road, with the next event listed as November 14, 2026 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and it takes tires up to twenty two inches without rims with a Suffolk ID, household hazardous waste with an ID, batteries, cardboard, computers, cordless tools, electronics, flat screen televisions, small furniture, clothing, glass, paper, plastic bags, plant pots, aluminium and tin cans and scrap metal. Televisions with tubes are refused there and may go out with the regular trash instead. The city also lists standing alternative routes: Butler Paper Recycling on Newport Street for paper and cardboard, Arzillo Recycling on Portsmouth Boulevard for scrap metal under five feet long, TerraCycle by mail for hard to recycle items, Goodwill and Best Buy for electronics and clothing, ecoATM machines for phones and tablets, grocery stores, Lowe's and the Suffolk Public Library for plastic bags, the library or SPSA for batteries, and the library for ink cartridges. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Construction debris removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Suffolk.

How much does construction debris removal cost in Suffolk?

Pricing is per accepted item. A detached door is $99 as a single item, an ordinary toilet is $79, and a small bathroom vanity is $99. Larger vanities have their own choices. Select the listed items to see the exact combined price. These prices do not cover mixed rubble or loose building materials. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; applicable sales tax appears before payment.

Can I get same-day toilet or vanity pickup in Suffolk?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup, where available. Checkout shows the dates you can choose. Arrange disconnection, removal and the move outside first, then have the fixture ready by the time in your confirmation. We text you before arrival and provide pickup photos when it is done.

Will you disconnect a sink or take a door off its hinges?

The fixture must already be detached, disconnected and accessible outside at ground level. Arrange plumbing, electrical work, removal from walls or hinges, and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb handles loading and haul-away from your outdoor pickup spot.

Can I add bags of drywall, tile or other demolition waste?

Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted. This page offers pickup for the listed doors, toilets and bathroom vanities that are already removed. Do not book loose building materials as household trash bags or as an extra item. Arrange suitable disposal for those materials with your contractor or a debris specialist.

Can a door, toilet and vanity go in the same pickup?

Yes. Add each listed fixture separately and choose the correct vanity size. Each detached door panel counts as one item. The combined price appears before you book. Keep the fixtures together outside, separate from anything staying, and add a location photo on your order page.

Can renovation debris go out with special pick-up?

The city's special pick-up list names debris among the accepted items along with appliances, boxes, furniture, mattresses and yard waste, but it does not define what kind of debris qualifies, and no construction rate is published. Call the Refuse Division on 757-514-7630 and describe the material before it goes out, keeping any pile inside the twelve cubic yard limit and placing it out no earlier than twenty four hours before the collection day.Official guidance
