Match your item

Construction cleanup starts with the right items.

We currently accept the doors, toilets and bathroom vanities listed here, already detached and ready outside. Choose each item separately. Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted, including in bags.

Doors

Count each detached door panel separately. Have it removed from its hinges before pickup. A whole installed doorway or garage door is not the same item.

Toilets

Choose Toilet for an ordinary household toilet that has already been disconnected, drained and moved outside. Text a photo before booking if yours is broken or has loose sharp pieces.

Bathroom vanities

Choose the small, standard or large bathroom vanity that matches your sink cabinet. A makeup table has a separate choice. Plumbing disconnection and removal from the wall happen before pickup.

Construction and demolition debris

Special rules apply

Project debris is not a curbside item: it goes to the King County transfer station where it is charged with the garbage load, or into a debris box from the city hauler.

City cost & eligibility
From $40.25 for the King County garbage minimum for a self hauled load of up to three hundred twenty pounds at the Bow Lake Recycling and Transfer Station, with a per ton rate above that weight and a lower rate for customers enrolled in the Cleanup LIFT discount program. A household that hauls its own construction and demolition material to the King County Bow Lake station, where the load is charged at the garbage rate. Larger projects are quoted separately by Recology for a debris box, and the city of Burien requires a right of way permit when a container sits in the public right of way.
When & how
Take the load to the Bow Lake station in Tukwila during station hours, or order a debris box from Recology and place it on private property, obtaining a right of way permit from the city first if it has to sit in the street.
Get it ready
Secure the load so nothing can slide, shift or fall onto the roadway, because the county charges a fee for an unsecured load, separate clean wood, cardboard, scrap metal and yard waste because those materials have to be recycled rather than dumped, and keep paint, thinners, oils, batteries and gas filled containers out of every container because hazardous material is prohibited.

City of Burien solid waste contract with Recology King County, plus the King County Solid Waste Division

Self haul to the King County Bow Lake station

A household with a truck or trailer, or a load of construction debris, appliances, mattresses, yard waste or scrap metal that the curbside routes do not take.

Cost & conditions
From $40.25 for the King County garbage minimum for up to three hundred twenty pounds at the Bow Lake Recycling and Transfer Station, with a per ton rate above that weight. A residential self hauler bringing the load to 18800 Orillia Rd S in Tukwila during station hours. Customers with a ProviderOne, EBT or ORCA LIFT card get the Cleanup LIFT discount, which is taken off each type of waste in the load on each visit.
Arrange it
Secure the load, drive to the station, sort clean wood, cardboard, scrap metal and yard waste into their recycling areas, tell the scale house what is in the load, and pay by card, cash or Apple Pay.

The station and the recycling area keep different hours, the facility is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day, a load that arrives unsecured draws a fee, appliances that hold refrigerant and mattresses carry their own per item charges, and the vehicle and trailer length limit at this station is forty feet.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

A Burien household that hauls its own load uses the King County Bow Lake Recycling and Transfer Station at 18800 Orillia Rd S in Tukwila, where the garbage minimum covers the first three hundred twenty pounds and a per ton rate applies above that, and where customers with a ProviderOne, EBT or ORCA LIFT card can take the Cleanup LIFT discount off each type of waste. Construction and demolition debris is charged with the garbage load at that station, and clean wood, cardboard, scrap metal and yard waste have to be sorted into the recycling areas instead of dumped. Mattresses, futons and box springs are recycled there for a handling fee per piece, up to six dry pieces per customer per day, and an appliance that contains or contained refrigerant carries its own per unit charge and has to be set upright on the concrete island. Household hazardous waste does not go to any cart or container and goes instead to a King County collection site or the traveling Wastemobile at no fee, with a free home pickup available for residents 65 and over or with a disability. Every load has to be secured before the trip, and the vehicle and trailer combination is limited to forty feet. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Construction debris removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Burien.

How much does construction debris removal cost in Burien?

Pricing is per accepted item. A detached door is $99 as a single item, an ordinary toilet is $79, and a small bathroom vanity is $99. Larger vanities have their own choices. Select the listed items to see the exact combined price. These prices do not cover mixed rubble or loose building materials. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; applicable sales tax appears before payment.

Can I get same-day toilet or vanity pickup in Burien?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup, where available. Checkout shows the dates you can choose. Arrange disconnection, removal and the move outside first, then have the fixture ready by the time in your confirmation. We text you before arrival and provide pickup photos when it is done.

Will you disconnect a sink or take a door off its hinges?

The fixture must already be detached, disconnected and accessible outside at ground level. Arrange plumbing, electrical work, removal from walls or hinges, and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb handles loading and haul-away from your outdoor pickup spot.

Can I add bags of drywall, tile or other demolition waste?

Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted. This page offers pickup for the listed doors, toilets and bathroom vanities that are already removed. Do not book loose building materials as household trash bags or as an extra item. Arrange suitable disposal for those materials with your contractor or a debris specialist.

Can a door, toilet and vanity go in the same pickup?

Yes. Add each listed fixture separately and choose the correct vanity size. Each detached door panel counts as one item. The combined price appears before you book. Keep the fixtures together outside, separate from anything staying, and add a location photo on your order page.

What happens to construction debris in Burien?

Construction and demolition debris is not part of the curbside or bulky service. A household that hauls its own load pays the King County garbage minimum for the first three hundred twenty pounds at the Bow Lake Recycling and Transfer Station in Tukwila, with a per ton rate above that, and larger jobs are quoted separately by Recology for a debris box. Clean wood, cardboard, scrap metal and yard waste have to be separated for recycling at the station, the load has to be secured so nothing can slide, shift or fall onto the roadway, and hazardous material such as paint, thinners, oils and batteries cannot go in any container.Official guidance

What cannot go in a Burien garbage cart?

Electronics cannot go in the garbage and instead ride the free curbside small electronics collection or a Recology Store or E-Cycle Washington drop off. Household hazardous waste is banned from the garbage, the recycling cart and the organics cart and goes to a King County collection site, and construction and demolition material is not a curbside or bulky item at all, so project loads go to the Bow Lake station or into a debris box. Bulky items such as appliances, furniture and mattresses also never go in the carts.Official guidance
