Ready for it to go

The old sofa can stop holding up your plans.

You know it needs to go. The price, the pickup day and knowing it is done should be easy to settle, too.

A replacement is on the way.

Give the old couch its own pickup day. Check what your retailer will remove, then book the part you still need handled.

The move has enough moving parts.

See the price before you book and choose from the available dates. One less job to arrange before handing back the keys.

You are ready for the space back.

You do not need a whole room to clear. Book the sofa, recliner or sectional that needs to go, and follow the pickup through updates and photos.

The right sofa. The right price.

Count the sections, not the cushions.

A loveseat, a sleeper and a sectional can look similar in a photo. Match the shape and features so your online price covers what is actually going.

Three structural sectional modules slightly separated, with all cushions remaining on their bases.
This example has three structural sections. The cushions do not add to the count.

A straight sofa or loveseat

Choose Standard sofa for fixed seats with no pull-out bed or reclining mechanism. One whole sofa is one item.

A sectional

Count its structural sections, not the loose cushions. Choose the piece count, then check for a sleeper or reclining feature. One sectional booking covers the configuration you select.

A pull-out bed or reclining seats

Choose Sleeper sofa or Reclining sofa for those mechanisms. A single reclining chair has its own Recliner choice. All sofa types also includes futons and sofas with a chaise.

Large household items

Special rules apply

Lynnwood publishes no bulky pickup program, so a couch, a mattress or another large item is either arranged with the certificated hauler for the address or driven to a Snohomish County transfer station. The county excepts household sofas, appliances, mattresses, doors, carpets and rugs from its six foot and 25 square foot size rule at the North County station in Arlington and the drop boxes, and it publishes the size rule without that exception for the Mountlake Terrace station, so confirm a large piece at the scale house.

City cost & eligibility
There is no published bulky price, because the city runs no bulky program and the haulers set their own service charges, while the county transfer station bills such a load as garbage with a flat minimum under 360 pounds or a per ton rate above it, so ask the provider for a quote or expect the county garbage charge.
When & how
Call the hauler for the address, or drive the load to the Southwest Recycling and Transfer Station at 21311 61st Place West in Mountlake Terrace, open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. except four holidays.
Get it ready
Cover and secure the load, because an unsecured load adds a fee. Keep electronics, refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, heat pumps, liquid waste and yard debris out of it, and expect to unload the vehicle yourself at the station.
City utility and service provider page stating that garbage service is mandatory for property owners, that the city is not a provider, that curbside garbage recycling and yard waste come from Waste Management and Republic Services under state certificates, the Highway 99 service split with both phone numbers, the state tariff and complaint route and the link to county transfer and hazardous waste servicesCounty waste acceptance page with the prohibited items list covering air conditioners, dehumidifiers, heat pumps, refrigerators and freezers, electronics and liquid waste, the special preparation rule excepting sofas, appliances, mattresses, doors, carpets and rugs from the size limit, the construction material rule and the five tire per day limit at regular garbage ratesCounty facility locations page with the Southwest Recycling and Transfer Station address in Mountlake Terrace, its seven day hours and holiday closures, the flat minimum garbage fee under 360 pounds, the per ton rate above it, the payment methods and the residential only recycling area

Couches, chairs and household furniture

Accepted with preparation

Furniture goes to a county transfer station as garbage, or on a pickup arranged with the hauler for the address. The county exempts household sofas from its six foot and 25 square foot size rule at the North County station in Arlington and the drop boxes, and publishes the size rule without that exemption for the Mountlake Terrace station, so confirm a sofa at the scale house there. The city's electronics event refuses furniture outright.

City cost & eligibility
From $30 for the flat minimum garbage fee per vehicle carrying 360 pounds or less at a Snohomish County recycling and transfer station, including tax, with heavier loads billed at $160 per ton plus tax. Household loads at the Mountlake Terrace station or the county's other transfer stations; a hauler pickup for the same piece is quoted by the provider for the address.
When & how
Take the piece to a county transfer station during its seven day opening hours, or call the hauler for a pickup time.
Get it ready
Empty the drawers and remove anything you are not sending, cover the load, and keep electronics, cooling appliances and chemicals out of it because those are refused at county facilities.

The handoff matters

Right item.
Right place.

Your hauler is set by your side of Highway 99

Garbage service is mandatory for every Lynnwood property owner, but the city is not a provider: curbside garbage, recycling and yard waste come from Waste Management NW east of Highway 99 on 1-800-592-9995 or Republic Services west of it on 425-778-0188, under state certificates with tariffs published by the state commission. Start, stop and service questions go to the provider, not the city.

The city events run on set dates and refuse a lot

Lynnwood runs its own collection events for residents only, generally an e-waste and styrofoam day in January and June, a shredding day in April and October, and a recycling event in March. The electronics event takes flat screen televisions, computers, printers, scanners, networking gear, audio equipment, cell phones, cameras, lithium-ion laptop and UPS batteries and microwaves, and refuses tube and projection televisions, CRT monitors, large appliances, water heaters, barbecues, furniture, exercise equipment, air conditioning units, propane tanks, anything with liquids or fuel, and batteries that are not lithium-ion.

The county station takes what the cart cannot

The Southwest Recycling and Transfer Station at 21311 61st Place West in Mountlake Terrace is open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. apart from New Year's Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas, and bills a flat minimum for loads under 360 pounds or a per ton rate above it with customers unloading their own vehicles. Household sofas, appliances, mattresses, doors, carpets and rugs are accepted as garbage, and the county's six foot and 25 square foot size exception for those pieces is published for the North County station and the drop boxes rather than for this one, so confirm an oversized piece at the scale house. Tires are limited to five a day in passenger and pickup sizes, and electronics, refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, heat pumps, liquid waste and yard debris are refused.

Waste Management NW and Republic Services under state certificates, with Snohomish County Solid Waste for the drop-off sites

Use the certificated hauler for your address

A Lynnwood property owner setting up mandatory garbage service, or asking about a large item the cart will not hold.

Cost & conditions
The city publishes no rate, because curbside garbage, recycling and yard waste come from Waste Management NW on 1-800-592-9995 east of Highway 99 or Republic Services on 425-778-0188 west of it under state certificates, with tariffs published by the state commission, so confirm the monthly charge and any large item or yard waste fee with the provider.
Arrange it
Call the provider for the address to start or change service and to ask about collecting a large item or adding yard waste.

There is no city bulky program, so a large item pickup is whatever the individual hauler offers and charges, and unresolved service disputes go to the state Utilities and Transportation Commission on 1-888-333-9882.

A household with furniture, bedding, an appliance, project debris or up to five tires to move itself.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Lynnwood residents self haul to two county sites and one city event site. The Southwest Recycling and Transfer Station at 21311 61st Place West in Mountlake Terrace takes household garbage seven days a week at a flat minimum for loads under 360 pounds or a per ton rate above it, self hauled construction material such as brick, concrete, dirt, sod, sand, gravel and rocks as garbage only, and up to five passenger or pickup tires a day at the garbage rate. The county publishes a six foot and 25 square foot size rule for that station and does not list it among the sites that except household sofas, appliances, mattresses, doors, carpets and rugs, because that exception is published for the North County station in Arlington and the drop boxes, so confirm a piece that large at the scale house before the trip. The station refuses electronics, refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, heat pumps, liquid waste and yard debris, so those streams split off separately: electronics go free to any E-Cycle Washington location with a ten item limit or to the city's own e-waste and styrofoam days at the Operations and Maintenance Center on 60th Ave W, and household chemicals go free to the county station at 3434 McDougall Avenue in Everett from Wednesday to Saturday. Every load has to be covered and secured, and the county charges a fee on an uncovered load at the gate. A few things
worth knowing.

Couch removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Lynnwood.

How much does couch removal cost in Lynnwood?

A standard sofa is $79 as the first item and $29 additional. Sectionals, sleepers and reclining sofas have their own choices. Select everything that is going to see the combined price before booking. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; any applicable sales tax appears before payment.

Can you pick up my couch today?

Book by 2pm in the pickup address’s local time for same-day pickup. Available dates appear at checkout. Have the couch outside and accessible according to your confirmation. We send pickup updates and photos when it is done; the booking is for a day rather than an exact arrival time.

How do I book a sectional for removal?

Open Sectional in the sofa choices, count its structural sections, and select any sleeper or reclining feature. Count the sections with their own bases, not loose cushions. The matching catalog choice covers one complete sectional of that configuration. Text a photo before booking if you are unsure.

Dropcurb starts outside. Arrange for the sofa to be moved through the apartment and down interior stairs before pickup. We load and haul it away from an accessible outdoor spot. Arrange any dismantling needed to get it outside beforehand.

Do I need to wait at home for couch pickup?

You do not need to be home when your booked sofa is outside and accessible. Add photos and pickup-location notes to your order so the right pieces are easy to identify. We send updates and completion photos. Confirm any building access restrictions with us before booking.
