Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

  1. Arrange any unmounting first.

Dropcurb does not remove TVs from walls or do indoor carrying. Arrange the help you need before pickup day, including the trip down interior stairs or through an elevator.

  2. Choose a permitted outdoor spot.

Use a stable, accessible location with a clear path for loading. Keep the TV separate from anything staying. Check building rules before placing it in a shared pickup area.

  3. Show us the TV that is going.

Add a location photo and access notes after booking. Follow the readiness instructions in your confirmation. For exposed broken glass or unusual damage, send a photo and check with us before booking.

Televisions, computers and other electronics

Special rules apply

SeaTac's collection contractor runs a residential curbside special item recycling programme, so electronics and small appliances can go out with the blue recycling cart. The bill payer on record requests the collection, and the items sit on top of or beside the cart on collection day. The published list covers batteries, motor and cooking oil, styrofoam, textiles, small appliances and electronics, fluorescent tubes and bulbs, and empty camping style propane canisters. Small appliances and electronics have to be 2 feet by 2 feet by 2 feet or smaller and under 60 pounds, so a full size television is outside the published limits and has to be checked with the hauler or taken to the City's one day recycling collection event.

City cost & eligibility
The special item programme publishes the accepted items, the set out rules and the size limits but no price, and the City event is a dated programme, so confirm the cost and the next collection date with Recology on 206.767.1166.
When & how
Ask the hauler for the special item collection before the cart day, or take televisions and other electronics to the City's one day recycling collection event at Sunset Park. Anything outside the published size and weight limits has to be arranged with the hauler on 206.767.1166.
Get it ready
Keep electronics and small appliances out of the garbage and recycling carts and erase personal data before handover. Batteries go out in a sealed plastic bag with the ends taped and motor vehicle batteries are refused; motor and cooking oil go in sealed, labelled, leak free clear jugs with screw top lids, up to three gallons per collection for each type; styrofoam blocks have to be clean and free of packing peanuts; textiles go in a clear bag; fluorescent tubes and bulbs are wrapped and bagged with a limit of two per collection; and propane has to be an empty disposable camping cylinder rather than a tank.

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in SeaTac.

How much does TV removal cost in SeaTac?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in SeaTac?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Where do televisions and computers go in SeaTac?

Small appliances and electronics up to 2 feet by 2 feet by 2 feet and under 60 pounds can go out for the hauler's special item recycling collection once the bill payer on record requests it, placed on top of or beside the blue recycling cart on collection day. A full size television is outside those limits, so ask Recology on 206.767.1166 or take it to the City's one day recycling collection event at Sunset Park. Keep the device out of the garbage and recycling carts and erase personal data first.Official guidance
