Get it ready
Remove all fluids and batteries before a power appliance goes out, because the city requires batteries, gasoline and oils to be removed first, and count the unit as one of the three large items.
Place all items at the front curb by 7 a.m. on the appointment day, keep them clear of vehicles, buildings, power lines and trees, and put out only the items disclosed when the collection was scheduled. Call at least one business day ahead to cancel or change the appointment, and allow the whole business day because two trucks may be assigned.
One pickup covers up to three large items and up to fifteen boxes or bags of smaller items, and every bag or box has to be light enough for one person to lift. A set out over that limit counts as a double pickup, which uses up the household's yearly allowance.
