The local disposal guide
Will the city take it?
Gold Canyon is unincorporated Pinal County, so there is no city collection desk. Pinal County runs free residential cleanup events, including one for Gold Canyon residents at the community church, sponsors free disposal days with two landfill operators, and publishes a white appliance drop-off at its Material Recovery Center. Household chemicals go to a named county location in Coolidge, and private landfills or haulers handle anything else.
Furniture is on the accepted list for the Gold Canyon cleanup event and for the sponsored free disposal days, so a couch or an armchair moves on one of those dates rather than on a weekly route.
City cost & eligibility
No charge. Free at the Gold Canyon residential cleanup event for Gold Canyon residents, who may be asked for a utility bill, ID card or driver's license, and free at the sponsored free disposal days. A private hauler's own pickup is priced separately.
When & how
Take furniture to the Gold Canyon cleanup event at Gold Canyon Community Church, 5810 S Alameda Road, on Friday, Jan. 8 or Saturday, Jan. 9, 2027 between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m., or to a sponsored free disposal day at the published date and hours.
Get it ready
Keep the load to residential material, because commercial loads, contractor debris and business waste are refused. Propane tanks, oil, paint, antifreeze, motor oil, gas, bio-hazards, herbicides and pesticides do not belong in the load either.
Pinal County runs a white appliance drop-off at its Material Recovery Center that takes stoves, refrigerators, washers, dryers and microwaves, and appliances are also accepted at the Gold Canyon cleanup event.
City cost & eligibility
No charge. The county publishes no fee for the white appliance drop-off, and the Gold Canyon cleanup event is free for Gold Canyon residents with proof of residency. Appliances at a sponsored free disposal day must be documented free of refrigerant.
When & how
Take the unit to the Material Recovery Center at 12725 E Adamsville Road in Florence, open Tuesday through Thursday 7 a.m. to noon and 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and closed for lunch, or to the Gold Canyon cleanup event on Jan. 8 and 9, 2027 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Get it ready
Empty the unit and leave plastic appliances at home, because the county drop-off does not take them. At a sponsored free disposal day the appliance must be documented free of refrigerant, and items that hold Freon or may leak CFCs are refused there.
No Pinal County page names a mattress on its accepted lists, so the county and the private hauler have to be asked before one is hauled anywhere.
City cost & eligibility
The county events are free and publish no mattress line, and the private hauler publishes no price for its bulk pickup, so confirm the item and any charge with Pinal County Public Works at 520-866-6685 or with the hauler before the mattress leaves the property.
When & how
Call before the Gold Canyon cleanup event on Jan. 8 and 9, 2027 or a sponsored free disposal day, and confirm whether a mattress is accepted; the private hauler lists a mattress as an example of its bulk pickup service.
Get it ready
Keep the mattress dry and wrapped, keep it out of any load aimed at the white appliance drop-off, and confirm the item before it is carried out, because the accepted lists do not name one.
No county page read for Gold Canyon publishes a television drop-off, so the route has to come from the county or the private hauler.
City cost & eligibility
No published television route or price was found for Gold Canyon. The hauler says it can help recycle or dispose of most electronics without publishing a location or a price, so confirm the device and the charge before anything is loaded.
When & how
Call Pinal County Public Works at 520-866-6685 or the private hauler first. Neither the Gold Canyon cleanup event nor the sponsored free disposal lists name electronics or televisions.
Get it ready
Keep the screen whole, wipe anything that stores data, and keep the set out of the cleanup event load, because paint, oil, antifreeze, gas, propane tanks and bio-hazards are refused there and electronics are not on its accepted list.
Digital devices are on the BOPA event list rather than the Gold Canyon cleanup list, and no BOPA event is published for Gold Canyon, so the route has to be confirmed.
City cost & eligibility
The BOPA events that accept digital devices are not published for Gold Canyon, and the hauler publishes no electronics price, so confirm the device, the location and any charge at 520-866-6685 or with the hauler first.
When & how
Call before the trip. The county's published cleanup event for Gold Canyon accepts appliances but does not list computers or digital devices, and the county's digital device list is attached to its BOPA events only.
Get it ready
Wipe stored data where the device powers on, bag the chargers and cables with it, and keep the device out of the household trash load at the cleanup event.
Debris from home improvement projects and concrete are accepted at the Gold Canyon cleanup event for residents, with no commercial loads, and construction debris and wood are accepted on the sponsored free disposal days.
City cost & eligibility
The county cleanup event and the sponsored free disposal days are free for residents, while a private landfill or transfer station sets its own gate price and the county publishes none, so confirm the load and the cost before hauling to a private facility.
When & how
Use the Gold Canyon cleanup event on Jan. 8 and 9, 2027 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 5810 S Alameda Road, use a sponsored free disposal day, or call a private landfill or transfer station such as RAD Recycling in Apache Junction or the Republic transfer station on Hunt Highway before a paid load.
Get it ready
Keep the load residential, because contractor, business and commercial waste is refused at the county events. Rocks, pavers, concrete soil and dirt, railroad ties, whole tires, pressurized tanks and used oil are refused on the sponsored free disposal days, and concrete soil or dirt is refused there even though clean concrete is accepted at the county event.
Exercise equipment is not named on any Pinal County list read for this city, so the county has to confirm the machine before it is hauled out.
City cost & eligibility
No published entry covers an exercise machine and the county publishes no fee for its free events, so confirm the item and the route at 520-866-6685 or with the private hauler first.
When & how
Call Pinal County Public Works at 520-866-6685 before the Gold Canyon cleanup event on Jan. 8 and 9, 2027, or ask a private hauler about a pickup of its own.
Get it ready
Describe the machine, its weight and whether it has powered parts, drain it if it holds fluid, and keep it separate from the household trash and green waste in the load.
Gold Canyon has no weekly bulky route. Large household material moves through the annual county cleanup event for Gold Canyon residents, a sponsored free disposal day, or a private hauler or landfill.
City cost & eligibility
No charge. The Gold Canyon cleanup event and the sponsored free disposal days are free for residents, with proof of residency at the cleanup event. A private hauler or landfill sets its own price and the county publishes none.
When & how
Take household bulky material to the Gold Canyon cleanup event at 5810 S Alameda Road on Friday, Jan. 8 or Saturday, Jan. 9, 2027 between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m., or to a sponsored free disposal day during its published hours.
Get it ready
Bag household trash and keep green waste together, because the event accepts both, and leave propane tanks, oil, paint, antifreeze, motor oil, gas, bio-hazards, herbicides, pesticides and any commercial or contractor waste at home because they are refused.
Gold Canyon has no weekly bulky route, so furniture, appliances, home improvement debris, metal, concrete, car batteries, green waste and bagged household trash are taken to the Gold Canyon cleanup event at Gold Canyon Community Church, 5810 S Alameda Road, on Friday, Jan. 8 and Saturday, Jan. 9, 2027 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., or to a sponsored free disposal day during its published hours. Proof of residency may be asked for at the cleanup event.
Keep chemicals and commercial loads out of the truck
The cleanup event refuses propane tanks, oil, paint, antifreeze, motor oil, gas, bio-hazards, herbicides, pesticides and any commercial, contractor or business waste, and a commercial load also voids the free disposal days. Household chemicals belong at the county's named location, Arcwood Environmental at 284 E Storey Road in Coolidge, and latex paint can be dried with an equal part of kitty litter and then placed in the household trash.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.
