Get it ready
Remove or seal the doors on the appliance first, empty and drain the unit, and keep it under 150 pounds. The programme describes collection rather than a recovery guarantee for the machine.
At the kerb by 6 a.m. and never more than a day early
Place items curbside or at the arranged collection location by 6 a.m. on the scheduled pickup day, and do not set anything out more than 24 hours in advance. Keep the pile clear of street and sidewalk access.
Separate the reusable items and contain the loose ones
Label clean undamaged reusable pieces REUSE and keep them apart from the landfill pile so the crew can route them to donation. Bag, box or bundle loose, small or multiple items, and keep each large item under 150 pounds.

Items over 150 pounds, abandoned automobiles, tires, dirt, rocks, construction and demolition debris, and household hazardous waste are refused. Appointments are unavailable in the first two weeks of January, and multi-family addresses must agree a collection location with the building manager first.
Alameda has no municipal transfer station in the retained sources; the bulky route is the franchised hauler's on-call collection, which every residential customer can book once per household or unit every twelve months at no charge, within three cubic yards and three large items of up to 150 pounds each. One of the three items may be electronic waste, and clean undamaged reusable pieces set apart and labelled REUSE go to a donation facility rather than the landfill. Yes. Add one Washing machine and one Dryer so both units are included in the price. They are separate items, even when you bought them as a set. If yours is a single combined unit or the machines still need to be unstacked, contact us before booking to confirm the scope.
Will you disconnect my appliance or carry it out?+
Dropcurb picks up appliances that are already disconnected and accessible outside at ground level. Arrange uninstallation, utility disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Can I book if the delivery company did not take my old appliance?+
Yes. Dropcurb pickup is separate from buying or installing a replacement, so you can book removal on its own. Select the old appliance, choose a pickup day and arrange for it to be disconnected and accessible outside. If your new delivery is still ahead, confirm the retailer’s haul-away arrangements before booking a separate pickup.
