Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

  1. Arrange any unmounting first.

Dropcurb does not remove TVs from walls or do indoor carrying. Arrange the help you need before pickup day, including the trip down interior stairs or through an elevator.

  2. Choose a permitted outdoor spot.

Use a stable, accessible location with a clear path for loading. Keep the TV separate from anything staying. Check building rules before placing it in a shared pickup area.

  3. Show us the TV that is going.

Add a location photo and access notes after booking. Follow the readiness instructions in your confirmation. For exposed broken glass or unusual damage, send a photo and check with us before booking.

Televisions, computers and electronic waste

Special rules apply

The District Community Clean-Up Event accepts electronic waste, but the city publishes the stream by that name without listing the individual devices, so a television or a monitor is confirmed with the division before it is loaded.

City cost & eligibility
The event is free of charge, but the city does not publish a device level list for the electronic waste stream it accepts there, so confirm the specific device with the Solid Waste Division on (209) 456-8440 before you load it.
When & how
Take the device to your district's quarterly event once the division has confirmed it. Keep it out of the weekly cart, which is for household garbage.
Get it ready
Wipe personal data before the device leaves your hands, remove and tape any loose battery, and bring the device in your own vehicle inside the one truck and trailer allowance.

The handoff matters

Right item.
Right place.

Bring the large piece to your district event

Each district gets its own District Community Clean-Up Event once a quarter and the event is free to residents. Bring a utility bill and government issued identification, arrive in one truck or a truck with a trailer no longer than eight feet, and unload the items yourself. Bulky items such as couches, furniture and appliances, household trash, electronic waste, mattresses, green waste and up to nine tires are the accepted examples; hazardous waste, oil, paint, sharps and fluorescent tubes are refused.

City of Manteca Solid Waste Division

Take the large piece to your district clean-up event

A Manteca household with a couch, a mattress, an appliance, electronic waste or up to nine tires, at the quarterly event for its own district.

Cost & conditions
No charge. Manteca residents at their own district's quarterly event, which the city states is free of charge on proof of residency with a utility bill and identification.
Arrange it
Check the district map or the Resource Lookup Tool to find your district, then bring the load to that district's quarterly event, arriving in one truck or a truck with a trailer no longer than eight feet and unloading it yourself.

Commercial vehicles and moving trucks are turned away, the trailer may be no longer than eight feet, and hazardous waste, oil, paint, sharps and fluorescent tubes are refused. Exercise equipment and construction material are not on the published accepted list.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Self hauling in Manteca runs through the city's own programmes rather than a transfer station. The quarterly District Community Clean-Up Event is the route for anything large: a couch, furniture, appliances, mattresses, electronic waste, green waste and up to nine tires per household go there free, with a utility bill and identification at the gate and the resident doing the unloading from one truck or a truck with a trailer of no more than eight feet. Day to day overflow is handled at home instead, with a sticker on an extra bag inside the three sticker yearly allowance, or with the free two cubic yard cleanup bin that stands for 24 hours and takes everyday household garbage only. Household chemicals never travel with any of that: paint, batteries, fluorescent tubes, pool chemicals and pesticides go to the San Joaquin County facility behind the Stockton Airport, free to county residents, and used sharps go to the Manteca Senior Center on Cherry Lane in a one quart red container. Construction and renovation material has no municipal route at all, so a project load is arranged privately. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Manteca.

How much does TV removal cost in Manteca?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Manteca?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Can I put a television in the clean-up event load?

Confirm it first on (209) 456-8440. The District Community Clean-Up Event names electronic waste as an accepted stream, but Manteca publishes no device level list for it, so a television, monitor or computer has to be checked with the Solid Waste Division rather than assumed.Official guidance

Who collects trash in Manteca?

The City of Manteca collects its own residential trash weekly in the city brown cart, and the Solid Waste Division answers on (209) 456-8440 during weekday business hours. Carts go in the gutter three feet from other carts and five feet from parked vehicles, out the night before or by 5 a.m., and the city collects on every holiday except Christmas Day and New Year's Day.Official guidance

What will the district clean-up event take?

Bulky items such as couches, furniture and appliances, household trash, electronic waste, mattresses, green waste and up to nine tires per household, as the accepted example list states. Hazardous waste, oil, paint, sharps and fluorescent tubes are refused, commercial vehicles and moving trucks are turned away, the trailer may be no longer than eight feet, and the resident unloads the load.Official guidance

Where do paint and household chemicals go?

To the San Joaquin County hazardous waste facility on Bridgeford Road behind the Stockton Airport, open Thursday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and free to county residents on (209) 468-3066. Paint, batteries, fluorescent tubes, pool chemicals and pesticides all go there, and neither the weekly cart, the cleanup bin nor the district clean-up event will take them.Official guidance

What do I do with extra garbage between events?

Put a city sticker on the extra bag and set it beside the cart on your regular collection day, inside the three stickers a household gets each calendar year at no extra charge, or request the free two cubic yard cleanup bin, which is delivered for 24 hours and takes everyday household garbage only.Official guidance

Can the city take renovation debris?

No municipal route is published for it. The cleanup bin refuses concrete, dirt and auto parts, and the district clean-up event's accepted list covers household material rather than project debris, so renovation and construction material is arranged with a private hauler or container service.Official guidance
