The City publishes no appliance fee. J&M Metal Recycling takes metal appliances at 2205 Rice Avenue and the landfill sets its own rate by weight, so confirm the charge with the facility you choose.

Schedule a bulky waste appointment through Waste Management at (866) 844-1508, take metal appliances to J&M Metal Recycling at 2205 Rice Avenue, or use the Yolo County Central Landfill during its published hours.
Get it ready
J&M Metal Recycling does not accept any appliance that still contains refrigerant or other liquids. Small pieces of scrap metal under 20 pounds can go in the green recycling cart instead.

Curbside collection runs on your street's collection day and is unaffected by holidays except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day, when residents are notified in advance of any change. Arrange it
Call Waste Management at (866) 844-1508 to book one of the two annual appointments, available between July 1 and June 30 for items too large to fit in a curbside cart.
Two appointments per household each year, and the landfill voucher route opens only after both are used.

The City does not publish what the voucher covers or how much disposal it pays for, so call Environmental Services and confirm before you load the vehicle.
Arrange it
Call Environmental Services at (916) 617-4590 and request a landfill voucher, then take the items to the Yolo County Central Landfill at 44090 County Road 28H in Woodland.
The City states that some restrictions apply to the voucher.
Household refuse, construction and demolition debris, tires, appliances, mattresses, electronics, wood, concrete, dirt, roof tile and household hazardous waste during hazardous waste hours.
Tires are limited to nine without a permit. Household hazardous waste is accepted only during hazardous waste hours, Thursday through Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Load tickets must list C&D or source-separated recycled material and the recycled weight for a load to count toward the City's diversion requirement.
Monday through Saturday 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Sunday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The landfill sets its own rates by material and weight, and the City publishes no rate table, so confirm the current charge with the landfill at (916) 617-4656 before you haul.
