Woodland's published material does not name appliances, so a refrigerator, freezer, washer or dryer is handled as a bulky item on the annual voucher load or on a paid trip to the Yolo County Central Landfill rather than through a curbside cart.
City cost & eligibility
The voucher covers one free load a year for a single-family home. Beyond that the landfill sets its own rate and Woodland publishes none, so confirm the charge and the acceptance rules at (530) 666-8729 before you load the appliance.

Get it ready
Confirm acceptance before loading, because neither the City nor Waste Management publishes an appliance route for Woodland and hazardous waste may not be placed in a landfill load.
Set carts out weekly by 6 a.m. on the service day, even when they are not full, and bring them back in within 24 hours after service. Waste Management does not operate on the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year's Day, and a service day that falls on or after a holiday is delayed by one day for the rest of that week.
Waste Management mails one bulky waste voucher each year to every single-family home in Woodland. The voucher allows one load of bulky items and general waste at the Yolo County Central Landfill at no cost, and every load must be properly tarped.

Can I book if the delivery company did not take my old appliance?+
Yes. Dropcurb pickup is separate from buying or installing a replacement, so you can book removal on its own. Select the old appliance, choose a pickup day and arrange for it to be disconnected and accessible outside. If your new delivery is still ahead, confirm the retailer’s haul-away arrangements before booking a separate pickup.
