One computer setup can be several items.

A separate monitor and tower count separately. Small devices and cables have their own box option. Choose what is actually leaving so your price matches the pickup.

Monitor, desktop or laptop.

Choose Computer monitor for each separate display. Desktop computer covers one tower or one all-in-one computer. A laptop is its own item. Add only the devices going.

Printer or office copier.

A printer with a built-in scanner belongs under Printer. A floor-standing copy machine belongs under Office copier. The shape matters more than the brand.

Televisions, computers and small electronics

Accepted with preparation

Electronic devices have been banned from Colorado landfills since July 2013 and the Front Range Landfill refuses them, so televisions and computers move through the town clean-up events, the Boulder hard-to-recycle facility or the state's recycler list.

City cost & eligibility
The town publishes a flat per television fee at its clean-up events, which is recorded on the clean-up option, but it publishes no separate cost for other electronics because each vendor sets its own price. The Boulder hard-to-recycle facility charges a facility fee plus an item fee for displays and televisions and no item fee for computers and phones.
When & how
Take electronics to a spring or fall clean-up event at the Leon A. Wurl Service Center, where the town's vendor takes monitors, computers, laptops, phones, printers, copiers, stereos, servers and toner, or use the Boulder hard-to-recycle facility on Arapahoe Road from Monday to Saturday. The town points to the state's electronic waste list for further year-round options.
Get it ready
Keep televisions, monitors, computers and microwaves out of every cart, out of the landfill load and out of a curbside bulky pile, and wipe personal data before the device leaves the house. Remove bulbs from lamps and housings where the receiving site asks for it.

The landfill refuses refrigerant units, electronics and hazardous material

The Front Range Landfill does not accept refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, batteries, electronic waste, hazardous waste, hot ashes, liquids including paint and oil, mercury fluorescent bulbs, propane containers, tires or toxic waste. Electronic devices have been banned from Colorado landfill disposal since July 1, 2013. Those categories move to the town clean-up events, the Boulder hard-to-recycle facility, the Boulder County hazardous waste facility or the Weld County sites, so plan the load in two parts rather than mixing them.

Town of Erie, licensed private haulers and Waste Connections

Use a town clean-up event

Erie residents with electronics, televisions, mattresses and other bedding, tires, refrigerant units, medication mailers, bicycles or confidential paperwork.

Cost & conditions
The town publishes that the cost per material type at its clean-up events varies by vendor, and it publishes separate amounts for bedding, televisions and refrigerant units. Confirm the current amounts and the event date with the town on 303-926-2880 or SustainableErie@erieco.gov before loading.
Arrange it
Attend the spring or fall clean-up event at the Leon A. Wurl Service Center on 150 Lambert Avenue, which has recently run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The town also runs a free resident landfill drop-off week each spring and fall, most recently from September 9 to 16, and requires a reflective safety vest at the landfill.

Events run on announced days only, the details are subject to change, and the free landfill week needs a tarped load that sits level with the truck or trailer bed. Shredding is offered at the fall event only, limited to two banker box sized loads per resident, and large tractor or agricultural tires are refused.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Erie has no town collection, so start with the hauler on your account: every home here is served by a private company the town licenses, and the town requires volume pricing, unlimited curbside recycling and organics but publishes no bulky item policy, because a 2022 communitywide contract was not awarded. Anything a hauler will not take can go to the Front Range Landfill inside Erie on Weld County Road 5, open Monday to Friday from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., where a car load is charged a flat rate, tonnage loads of household waste or of wood, concrete, drywall, siding and dirt are charged by weight with a minimum, a couch or a mattress is charged per item and white goods are recycled for a per item fee. Tarp and secure every load or it is charged double, and bring a reflective safety vest. The landfill refuses refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, batteries, electronic waste, hazardous waste, liquids, propane and tires, so those split off: the town clean-up events take electronics, mattresses and bedding, tires and refrigerant units with published amounts, the Boulder Center for Hard-to-Recycle Materials takes mattresses, electronics and refrigerant appliances for a facility fee plus item fees, and paint, chemicals, batteries, motor oil and sharps go free to the Boulder County facility at 1901 63rd Street, with Weld County sites for Weld side addresses. The town Recycling Center at 1000 Briggs Street takes recycling, cardboard, yard waste, food scraps and clothing free from residents who show proof of residency, but not furniture, mattresses, rugs, carpet or appliances. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Electronics removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Erie.

How much does electronics pickup cost in Erie?

A computer monitor is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Choose the actual devices and quantities to see your combined price online. A separate desktop tower and monitor are separate items. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; review the total and any applicable tax before payment.

Can you pick up old electronics today in Erie?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates shown at checkout and have the prepared items outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done. The booking is for a day, not an exact arrival time.

Does computer removal include my monitor and printer?

Desktop computer covers one tower or one all-in-one computer. Add a separate monitor, printer or laptop as its own item if it is going too. For small devices, cables and chargers together, choose Box of electronics and check the description before booking.

Do you erase data from old computers?

Data erasure and certified data destruction are not included in Dropcurb removal. Back up the information you need, then follow the manufacturer’s sign-out and reset instructions before pickup. If a device cannot be erased or contains sensitive business information, arrange suitable data handling before giving it away. Completion photos confirm the pickup, not data destruction.Official guidance

Can I book one box of old cables and small electronics?

Yes. Box of electronics is an existing option for small devices, cables and chargers together in one box. A monitor, desktop computer and printer each have their own item option. Send a photo before booking for a large or heavy box, unusual contents or separate batteries so we can confirm the fit.

Where do Erie televisions and computers go?

Not into the landfill: electronic devices have been banned from Colorado landfill disposal since July 1, 2013 and the Front Range Landfill refuses them. The town clean-up events collect electronics through a vendor that takes monitors, computers, laptops, phones, printers, copiers and more, with televisions charged a flat fee, and the Boulder hard-to-recycle facility takes computers and phones with no item fee and displays and televisions with an item fee.Official guidance

What can Erie residents drop off at a clean-up event?

The town partners with vendors twice a year, in spring and fall, at the Leon A. Wurl Service Center on 150 Lambert Avenue. The events take electronics through a vendor that handles monitors, computers, laptops, phones and printers, televisions at a per set fee, mattresses and other bedding on a published fee list, refrigerators, freezers and air conditioning units at a flat per unit rate regardless of refrigerant, up to eight tires per household, medication mailers and bicycles, with document shredding at the fall event only and a two box limit per household.Official guidance
