City cost & eligibility
The City names three electronics recyclers and does not set a single price. R2 Disassembly charges for televisions and monitors and takes other electronics at no charge, while Best Buy and Veolia set their own terms, so confirm the price and the accepted devices with the recycler before the trip.
When & how
Take the devices to one of the businesses the City lists: R2 Disassembly at 11751 Huron Street, Best Buy at 104th Avenue and Bannock Street, or Veolia at 9131 E. 96th Avenue, after calling the chosen location.
Get it ready
Keep electronics out of the recycle cart and off a special pickup pile, because both refuse them. Delete or destroy the data before the device leaves the property, since the City warns that deleting files and reformatting does not guarantee the data is gone, and use disk-wiping software or remove and physically damage the drive.
The City collects up to two automotive batteries a week on the scheduled trash day, placed next to the trash cart in the street and never inside the cart. Used motor oil and antifreeze used to be collected the same way, up to five gallons a week in clear one-gallon containers marked with the address and with taped lids, but the City states that from July 1, 2026 it no longer accepts either at the curb.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.

Do you erase data from old computers?+
Data erasure and certified data destruction are not included in Dropcurb removal. Back up the information you need, then follow the manufacturer’s sign-out and reset instructions before pickup. If a device cannot be erased or contains sensitive business information, arrange suitable data handling before giving it away. Yes. Box of electronics is an existing option for small devices, cables and chargers together in one box. A monitor, desktop computer and printer each have their own item option. Send a photo before booking for a large or heavy box, unusual contents or separate batteries so we can confirm the fit.

Where do household batteries go?+
Alkaline batteries, which are the non-rechargeable kind, go in the regular trash. Rechargeable batteries go to the in-store recycling center at the Lowe's on 261 W. 104th Ave. Automotive batteries are different again: the City collects up to two a week on the scheduled trash day if they are placed next to the trash cart in the street rather than inside it.Official guidance
Can I still put used motor oil out at the curb?+
No. The City used to collect up to five gallons of used motor oil or antifreeze a week in clear one-gallon containers marked with the address and with taped lids, but it states that from July 1, 2026 it no longer accepts either at the curb. Can anyone take the free mulch?+
Yes. Mulch is available to residents, the general public and businesses during yard waste drop-off hours, with no identification required and no charge, and the City refills a large pile at the same site. Visitors bring their own shovels because the City does not provide tools, and the drop-off itself is still limited to Northglenn single-family residences.Official guidance
