The Transfer Station at 475 Asylum Street is the City's route for mattresses, furniture, appliances, separated metals, up to two tires, waste oil and antifreeze, and it is free to residents with identification.

No charge. The Citizen's Guide states the Transfer Station is free for City residents, and residents are asked to bring a City ID or a utility bill. People who live outside the City but own property in Bridgeport have to bring proof of ownership and are limited to one trip per day.

The Transfer Station is open to residents year round Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wood and brush may not be longer than four feet and have to be tied in a bundle or loose and covered, and all loads have to be covered and secured.
