Book the unwanted bags and boxes left after packing. Choose an available pickup day before you hand back the keys, and arrange to have them outside.

Count each trash bag or filled household box. Books and media go by the box. Clothes, bedding and shoes go by the filled bag. Toys packed together have a Box of toys choice. Ask us about unusually heavy or oversized bags and boxes first.
Empty cardboard is a different choice: choose single empty boxes or tied bundles of 10 flattened boxes. Compacted bales have their own weight-based choices and require loading-dock access. A Storage bin choice covers the empty bin itself; ask us to confirm the contents if they are going too.

Coral Gables collects trash from the swale in front of single-family homes once a week, and that route takes yard debris and small household items such as furniture, up to one cubic yard.
Furniture is the City's example of a household item collected on the weekly trash route, with a published fee for each piece and a late-evening set-out rule.
Appliances are collected for the same published per item fee as furniture, but the collection has to be requested in advance.
A mattress is not named in the City's household item or garbage lists, so the piece has to be confirmed before it goes to the swale.
Electronics do not belong in any cart or pit, and the City routes them to its bi-annual recycling drive-thru event in the city hall parking lot.
Coral Gables does not pick up or dispose of construction material at all, so a project load moves through a licensed roll-off company.

The trash pit sits in the swale in front of the property, at least five feet from any tree and never on top of a drain, water meter or other utility. Yard debris may be placed out before the collection day, but household items and plastic bags holding organic matter may only go out after 6 p.m. the night before, and cardboard never goes in a pit at all.
