Send the appliance to the curb whole rather than broken into parts. Paint, motor oil and other household chemicals stay out of the refuse cart, and liquid paint is never collected.
Refuse, recycling and yard waste all go to the curb no later than 6:00 a.m. on the collection day. Carts sit with the handle facing away from the roadway and about three feet from other containers or objects, and they come back in no later than the evening of the collection day.
New Year's Day, Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day push collection one day later for the rest of that week, so check the schedule before setting anything out.
