Get it ready
Refrigerators and freezers must be between 10 and 30 cubic feet, plugged in, working and empty at the time of pickup, and a room air conditioner or dehumidifier must be removed from the wall or window, unplugged and placed near an outlet so the driver can confirm it runs. An adult has to be home for the NIPSCO pickup, and an appliance that no longer cools does not qualify for that program.
Gary does not run an appointment system for bulky material. One bulk item goes out with each weekly Republic Services collection, so place it with the cart, keep it clear of the mailbox and the cart itself, and call (219) 662-8600 when the hauler has to confirm the item.
