Sofas, chairs and large household furniture are accepted in the city bulk pickup that runs on your trash day. Two items are allowed per pickup, and they have to sit apart from the cart so the crew can see them.
City cost & eligibility
No charge. Bulk items are collected as part of the city curbside service for addresses on the municipal trash route. The city guide lists two items per pickup with no additional charge, and everything above that limit is the resident's responsibility.
When & how
Set furniture out on your bulk pickup day, which falls on the same day as trash collection, and keep it at least 3 feet away from the cart.

Put it out after 7 p.m. the night before or before 7 a.m. on the collection day. Pull dresser drawers out and set them beside the dresser, roll and tie carpet no longer than 4 feet, and keep the pile clear of the cart, the mailbox and anything else the crew needs to reach.

Check the city's route map to confirm the address is on the municipal collection route, then set the items out in the 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. window on the collection day, at least 3 feet from the cart.
