Refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers and drained hot water tanks are bulk items on the regular refuse day, and the white goods are collected by a separate truck that takes them for recycling.
City cost & eligibility
No charge. A residence served by the city refuse route, which is paid for through the annual refuse tax rather than a separate per-pickup charge. Refrigerator and freezer doors must be removed before the appliance goes to the curb, and each appliance counts as one of the five bulk items allowed in a week.
When & how
Collected on the scheduled refuse day, Monday through Friday, by a separate truck that handles white goods for recycling, and a holiday week moves the remaining collection days one day later.
