The local disposal guide
Wentzville contracts its residential garbage, recycling and yard waste collection to Meridian Waste. Large items, mattresses, appliances and televisions are scheduled with Meridian Customer Care and three of them are collected each calendar quarter at no additional charge. The city also runs a free electronics and document shredding event each October and a free tree limb pickup twice a year, and St. Charles County's Recycle Works West on East Pitman Avenue takes appliances, air conditioners and electronics for a published fee for each unit.

A couch, sectional, table, chair, cabinet or other household furniture is a scheduled large item in the Wentzville curbside contract, and up to three large items a calendar quarter are collected at no additional charge.
Stoves, washers, dryers, freezers, refrigerators, dishwashers and water heaters are on the large item list for a scheduled curbside pickup, and the county's Recycle Works West also takes appliances for a fee for each unit.
Air conditioners are not on the Wentzville large item list, but St. Charles County's Recycle Works West takes them intact for a fee for each unit and recovers the refrigerant on site with certified technicians.

Trash goes in the blue cart with the lid fully shut, recycling in the green cart, and the brown yard cart is part of the optional yard waste program.
