The city encourages residents to drop off computer monitors, televisions, small appliances, food processors, paper shredders, CD players and nickel cadmium batteries there, and the one exception is a television larger than 36 inches, which can be collected curbside but only by appointment through the Mayor's Help Line.

Get it ready
Wipe personal data from computers and phones, bring valid identification, keep the devices loose rather than bagged because the center requires recyclable material to be loose, and keep batteries out of the household barrels.
Section 91-36B of the city code requires garbage and bulk at the curb no earlier than sundown the evening before the scheduled pickup, and the city warns that a set out that breaks the rule can bring a fine. Household refuse goes in barrels no larger than thirty gallons with plastic bags under fifty pounds, and supermarket shopping bags are not to be used for garbage. During compost season leaves and brush go out in open containers or paper bags, never plastic, on Wednesdays.
