  1. Check what your delivery includes.

If a new mattress is arriving, check whether your retailer is taking the old one. If you need Dropcurb, choose a day when you can have it outside. A delivery window and a pickup day are different arrangements.

  2. Arrange the trip outside.

Plan for doorways, elevators and interior stairs before pickup day. You arrange any indoor carrying. Use a permitted outdoor location and keep entrances and the walking path open.

  3. Make the right mattress easy to find.

Follow the readiness instructions in your confirmation. Add a location photo and clear access notes so your hauler can identify exactly what is going.

Mattresses and box springs

Accepted with preparation

A mattress is named as a bulky item in Cuyahoga Falls, so it goes to the curb on the regular collection day inside the two item weekly allowance for Full Service households, with the request submitted in advance.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. Two bulky items a week are included in the monthly Full Service package for city sanitation customers. Limited Service customers are not entitled to free oversized item collection and carry the published non-bulky charge, and an item that does not qualify as bulky also carries it.
When & how
Place the mattress at the curb on your normal trash day, and submit the request by 4 p.m. the day before. A Monday pickup needs the request by 4 p.m. on the Friday before.
Get it ready
Keep the mattress dry and set it at the curb rather than in the roadway, and count a box spring as the second item if both go out the same week. Anything past the two item allowance needs a special pickup, which is priced separately.

Curb by 7 a.m. with three feet of clearance

All items go to the curb by 7 a.m. on the collection day. Carts stand at least three feet from other carts, trees, mailboxes and obstructions so the truck can reach them, and an overstuffed cart with the lid open is not collected.

Two bulky items a week for Full Service households

Full Service households may set out two bulky items or appliances a week with no extra charge, and the items are left at the curb on the regular trash day. Limited Service households and loads that do not qualify as bulky carry the published charge instead.

City of Cuyahoga Falls Sanitation Department, with Summit County ReWorks for hazardous, tire and electronics handling

Curbside bulky item collection on the regular trash day

A Full Service household with a mattress, couch, appliance, very large television, grill or other item that will not fit in a cart.

Cost & conditions
No charge. Two bulky items a week are included in the monthly Full Service package for city sanitation customers. Limited Service customers are not entitled to free removal of oversized items, and a load the city does not treat as bulky carries the published charge.
Arrange it
Submit the bulky item request through the city's online form or on 330-971-8010 by 4 p.m. the day before the pickup, or by 4 p.m. Friday for a Monday pickup, then set the item at the curb by 7 a.m. on the collection day with three feet of clearance.

Two bulky items a week, and construction material, tires, batteries, dirt, rocks, concrete, bricks, blocks, liquids and hazardous material are refused. A load larger than the bulky allowance needs a special pickup or a roll-off, and car owners should confirm refrigerant handling for an appliance before it goes out.

Pre-scheduled special pickup for extra or non-bulky items

A city sanitation customer with items beyond the two item weekly allowance, or with a load the city does not classify as bulky.

Cost & conditions
From $30 for for one pickup on a regular work day, covering roughly the volume of a medium pickup truck bed, with the charge rising in steps as more is set out. City sanitation customers who submit the request by 4 p.m. the day before the pickup, with major clean-ups carrying the published minimum.
Arrange it
Request the pickup through the city's online form or on 330-971-8010 before the 4 p.m. deadline, then have the load at the curb by 7 a.m. on the scheduled work day. Special pickups run Monday through Friday, excluding major holidays.

Construction material is limited, because the city cannot take larger amounts of it and permit holders are responsible for construction debris. Hazardous waste, liquids and tires are refused, and a large clean-out is usually cheaper and simpler as a roll-off rental.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Self hauling in Cuyahoga Falls means knowing which of three doors the load belongs at. Household hazardous waste goes to the ReWorks collection at 1201 Graham Road in Stow, at the Route 8 overpass, open Thursdays from 2 to 7 p.m. while the season runs, for Summit County residents only, with the 2026 season ending on September 24. Small electronics go into one of the city's three e-waste bins at the Service Complex on Bailey Road, Fire Station 4 on Northampton Road or the Quirk Cultural Center on Grant Avenue, and anything too large for a bin waits for the biannual electronics drives. Tires have no free option, so they go back to the retailer or to a year-round vendor such as the two ReWorks names, and moving more than ten tires needs state registration. Construction material and large clean-outs are the city's own problem to price: a small load can be pre-scheduled as a special pickup for a fee, and a bigger project uses a city roll-off dumpster that accepts what the household carts do not. Everything else that will not fit a cart is a bulky item, which the city takes two at a time on the regular trash day when the request arrives by 4 p.m. the day before. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Mattress removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Cuyahoga Falls.

How much does mattress removal cost in Cuyahoga Falls?

The price depends on the mattress size you choose. A queen mattress is $99 as the first item and $30 as an additional item. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Add any box spring or frame separately, then review your total and any applicable tax before payment.

Can I book same-day mattress pickup in Cuyahoga Falls?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates shown at checkout. Have the mattress outside and accessible according to your confirmation. Your booking is for a day rather than an exact arrival time, and we text you when your hauler is on the way.

Is my box spring or bed frame included in mattress removal?

The mattress price covers the mattress only. Add your box spring, bed frame or adjustable base separately if those are going too. Choose the size and type that match each item. The combined price appears before booking.

Will you carry my mattress downstairs or out of my apartment?

Dropcurb starts outside. You arrange to move the mattress out of your apartment and down interior stairs before pickup. We load it and take it away from an accessible outdoor spot. Check your building’s access rules before arranging the move outside.

Can you pick up my old mattress when my new one arrives?

You can choose an offered pickup day around your replacement delivery. First check whether the retailer already includes old-mattress removal, and arrange who will bring it outside if needed. Dropcurb books a pickup day, not the retailer’s delivery window. Contact us before booking if access is limited to a short time.

Does a mattress pickup need to be scheduled in Cuyahoga Falls?

Yes. Mattresses are named as bulky items, and every bulky item request has to reach the sanitation division in advance, by 4 p.m. the day before the pickup and by 4 p.m. on Friday for a Monday pickup. Two bulky items a week are included in the Full Service package.Official guidance

How many bulky items can go out in one week?

Two per week for Full Service households, and a mattress and box spring count as two separate pieces. Items that do not qualify as bulky, and any oversized item from a Limited Service household, carry the published non-bulky charge instead.Official guidance

How do I request a bulky item pickup in Cuyahoga Falls?

Use the city's online special sanitation pickup form or call the sanitation division on 330-971-8010 by 4 p.m. the day before the pickup, or by 4 p.m. Friday for a Monday pickup. Two bulky items a week are included in the Full Service package, and the item goes to the curb on the regular trash day.Official guidance
