A mattress is not named in the city bulk list, which describes bulk as brush too large to cut, furniture, oversized acceptable solid waste and swing sets, so the set has to be confirmed.

No mattress line is published and the bulk allowance is described by example rather than by item, so call Republic Services at 817-332-7301 or the city at 972-462-0022 and confirm whether the set counts as oversized acceptable solid waste.
When & how
Call and confirm the set first, then put it out with the bulk collection before 7 a.m. if it is accepted.
Get it ready
Keep the set dry and out of the bags, and keep it within the bulk volume limit for the collection.
Trash and bulk are collected Monday and Thursday and recycling and yard trimmings on Wednesday, with everything at the end of the driveway before 7 a.m. Beginning October 1, 2026 trash stays twice weekly, recycling and yard waste stay weekly, and bulk moves to a once a week Thursday collection with up to 4 cubic yards allowed per pickup.

Arrange it
Set the material at the end of the driveway before 7 a.m., use Monday and Thursday for trash and bulk and Wednesday for recycling and yard trimmings, and report a missed pickup to Republic Services at 817-332-7301, which schedules the collection for no later than the next business day.
The household is limited to 10 bags of solid waste a service day with each bag under 40 pounds and to the bulk volume limit, freon appliances need the technician tag, concrete is refused by the truck, and everything not accepted at the curb has to be confirmed with the city or the hauler.

The hazardous waste collection is available once each month and does not take fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, medicines or tires, and the landfill access is limited to one visit per month for a household that is a water customer.
