An exercise bike, elliptical or rower
Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.
Weights, racks and benches
Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

Keep the pile to household material such as appliances, bicycles, furniture, fencing cut to 4 by 4 or 4 by 3 sections, large toys, mattresses, do-it-yourself project waste and carpeting bundled in lengths of no more than 4 feet, and keep the combined pile within the 3 cubic yard limit.
Exercise machines are refused at the hazardous waste events but are not named in the City's list of acceptable bulky items, so the route depends on the machine. A piece that fits the bulky rule of thumb can go out with the household's bulky waste.

Exercise equipment has no named local rate. Confirm with Republic Services or the City at 972-219-3699 whether the machine is collected as bulky waste within the 3 cubic yard limit or needs a special collection, which the resident pays for.
When & how
Confirm the machine first, then set it beside the trash cart on the regular collection day within the combined 3 cubic yard limit, or book a Republic special collection.
Get it ready
Fold or dismantle the machine where the maker allows it and keep the parts together as one item, and take off any loose weights so the piece can be handled beside the cart. Do not take the machine to the hazardous waste appointment, because exercise machines are refused there.
Carts go to the curb or alley collection point by 7 a.m., no more than 24 hours before collection, and come back in within 24 hours after. Leave at least 3 feet between the cart and any other cart or object such as a tree, mailbox or car, keep 16 feet of clearance above it, and turn the wheels toward the house.
Three cubic yards for bulky and yard waste together
Bulky waste and yard waste are collected on the same day as trash, and the two piles together may not exceed 3 cubic yards on any collection day. As a rule of thumb, anything too large to fit in the back of a pickup truck is not bulky waste and needs a special collection arranged with the hauler.
A refrigerator, freezer or air conditioner with PCB, CFC or HCFC coolant must be tagged by a certified technician confirming the coolant was safely removed before it is eligible for curbside pickup. A local metal recycler or a removal service is the alternative the City offers.

No charge. Bulky waste is part of the franchised residential service and is collected at no separate charge, with bulky and yard waste combined limited to 3 cubic yards on a collection day.
Arrange it
Set the items beside the trash cart on the regular collection day, out by 7 a.m. The same day covers trash, recycling, bulky waste and yard waste, and a separate truck handles the bulky items.
Anything too large to fit in the back of a pickup truck is not disposed of as bulky waste. Appliances with coolant need a certified technician's tag, and material from a nonresidential source or a contractor is not collected as residential waste.

Special collection for oversized loads
Households with an item too large for the bulky rule of thumb, or with soil, concrete, stumps, treated wood or another load the bulky route will not take.
Cost & conditions
The special collection is arranged directly with Republic Services at an unpublished rate and the resident pays for it, so confirm the current price before the load is scheduled.
Arrange it
Contact Republic Services to arrange the special collection for the oversized or excluded material, and follow the placement instruction the hauler gives. Residents may also use their free landfill privileges for material such as soil and concrete.
This route replaces the bulky collection for the specific load, and waste from a commercial or contractor source is still refused as residential waste.
Lewisville residents whose curbside provider is Republic Services get two free dumping privileges each month at the Camelot Landfill on Huffines Boulevard, which is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Access requires a current water bill and a driver license with matching addresses, loads must be securely covered, the waste cannot come from commercial activity, and the landfill may refuse any load. That is also the route the City names for soil, concrete, stumps and treated wood that are not yard waste. Household chemicals and electronics go instead to the Residential Convenience Center at 330 Jones Street, where the drop-off recycling containers stay open around the clock and the collection program runs by appointment on Wednesdays and Fridays and one Saturday a month. Tires have no city route, and the City points residents to the Firestone and Goodyear locations it lists for tires.
