Get it ready
Keep the piece whole and reachable, cut and bundle carpeting into lengths of no more than 4 feet, and keep fencing and other project pieces to the published 4 by 4 or 4 by 3 section sizes.
Carts go to the curb or alley collection point by 7 a.m., no more than 24 hours before collection, and come back in within 24 hours after. Leave at least 3 feet between the cart and any other cart or object such as a tree, mailbox or car, keep 16 feet of clearance above it, and turn the wheels toward the house.
Three cubic yards for bulky and yard waste together
Bulky waste and yard waste are collected on the same day as trash, and the two piles together may not exceed 3 cubic yards on any collection day. As a rule of thumb, anything too large to fit in the back of a pickup truck is not bulky waste and needs a special collection arranged with the hauler.
A refrigerator, freezer or air conditioner with PCB, CFC or HCFC coolant must be tagged by a certified technician confirming the coolant was safely removed before it is eligible for curbside pickup. A local metal recycler or a removal service is the alternative the City offers.

Arrange it
Set the items beside the trash cart on the regular collection day, out by 7 a.m. The same day covers trash, recycling, bulky waste and yard waste, and a separate truck handles the bulky items.
Anything too large to fit in the back of a pickup truck is not disposed of as bulky waste. Appliances with coolant need a certified technician's tag, and material from a nonresidential source or a contractor is not collected as residential waste.

The City's resource list names AAA Recycling at 575 Jubilee Lane for appliances, scrap metal, car batteries and aluminum, the Lewisville Goodwill Retail Center at 919 W. Main Street for clothing, household items and electronics, the Dallas Furniture Bank in Carrollton for usable basic household furniture, and Christian Community Action at 128 South Mill Street, which takes appliances and household items and arranges large item pickups by phone.
Donation routes take reusable goods rather than disposal loads, and recyclers set their own accepted items and charges, so a broken or non reusable item still goes through the curbside bulky collection.
Lewisville residents whose curbside provider is Republic Services get two free dumping privileges each month at the Camelot Landfill on Huffines Boulevard, which is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Access requires a current water bill and a driver license with matching addresses, loads must be securely covered, the waste cannot come from commercial activity, and the landfill may refuse any load. That is also the route the City names for soil, concrete, stumps and treated wood that are not yard waste.
