Appliances, water heaters and lawn mowers are all named on the acceptable bulk list in The Colony's service guide. Two preparation rules decide whether the piece is collected: water containing appliances have to be drained, and mowers have to have the oil and gas removed.
City cost & eligibility
No charge. Appliances are collected inside the twice monthly residential bulk service with no published per-item fee, while the Freon removal is arranged and paid separately with a certified technician.

Get it ready
Drain the water from an appliance that holds it, remove the oil and gas from a mower, and for anything holding Freon have a certified technician remove it with the paperwork attached to the item. Keep the appliance inside the four cubic yard limit and keep it away from the carts.
An appliance containing Freon is collected only when the refrigerant has been removed by a certified technician and the proper paperwork is attached to the item. Without that paperwork the unit does not meet the published condition.
City cost & eligibility
No charge. The collection carries no published per-item fee inside the twice monthly bulk service, while the Freon removal is a separate certified technician cost that the city does not set.

Out on the designated bulk Monday only after the Freon paperwork is attached to the unit.
Get it ready
Arrange the Freon removal with a certified technician, attach the paperwork to the appliance itself, and keep the unit out of both carts until the bulk Monday. The household still has to stay inside the four cubic yard bulk limit with the rest of the load.
Bulk pickup runs twice a month on a Monday set by the household trash day: Tuesday and Wednesday routes use the first and third Mondays, and Thursday and Friday routes use the second and fourth Mondays. Items go in the normal collection area and the load is limited to four cubic yards.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.

Use the twice monthly bulk Monday
A household with a couch, carpet, an appliance, a water heater, a grill, a mower or extra bags of trash that the cart will not take.
Cost & conditions
No charge. Bulk pickup is part of the residential collection the household already pays for through the city contract and no per-item fee is published for it.
Arrange it
Set the material out on the designated Monday for your trash day, in the normal collection area, with the load kept inside four cubic yards and loose items bagged and tied.
Four cubic yards per collection, two collections a month, and no hazardous liquids, large metal objects, big construction debris, tires, televisions or steel and fence posts. Freon units need a technician's paperwork attached.
Self-hauling in The Colony runs through the city's own drop-off programme. The household hazardous waste site at 5576 N. Colony Blvd, in the parking lot east of Fire Station #2, takes electronics including televisions of all sizes, household chemicals, oil based paints, solvents, gasoline in a five gallon container, fluorescent bulbs, batteries, medications and sharps, and it opens three times a month with a Texas driver's licence and a current utility bill needed at the gate. Oil, antifreeze, car batteries and tires may also be taken to the city maintenance drop-off at 1 Harris Plaza, Suite 2, Monday to Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. A household with an active water account can ask City Hall for a landfill pass that allows one trip into the Camelot Landfill, and construction and demolition loads are refused in the bulk pile, so they go into a roll-off container reserved through the contractor. The curbside bulk Monday remains the cheapest route for furniture, appliances, carpet and extra bags of trash. Can I get same-day appliance pickup in The Colony?+
Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup, where available. Checkout shows the dates you can choose. Your pickup is scheduled for a day rather than an exact arrival appointment, and we text you before arrival. Have the appliance disconnected and ready outside by your pickup readiness time.
Can you take a washing machine and dryer in one pickup?+
Yes. Add one Washing machine and one Dryer so both units are included in the price. They are separate items, even when you bought them as a set. If yours is a single combined unit or the machines still need to be unstacked, contact us before booking to confirm the scope.
Will you disconnect my appliance or carry it out?+
Dropcurb picks up appliances that are already disconnected and accessible outside at ground level. Arrange uninstallation, utility disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Use a qualified professional for gas, hardwired or plumbing connections when needed. We handle loading and haul-away from the outdoor pickup spot.
Can I book if the delivery company did not take my old appliance?+
Yes. Dropcurb pickup is separate from buying or installing a replacement, so you can book removal on its own. Select the old appliance, choose a pickup day and arrange for it to be disconnected and accessible outside. If your new delivery is still ahead, confirm the retailer’s haul-away arrangements before booking a separate pickup.
What has to be done to an appliance before bulk pickup in The Colony?+
