City cost & eligibility
$20 for the specialty curbside collection rate for each mattress or box spring, charged in addition to the base pickup rate of $20.00 for an in-district valley household, $30.00 in the canyon communities or $40.00 out of district. Residential customers in the district, with the item bagged before pickup. An unbagged mattress or box spring will not be collected.
When & how
Request the specialty curbside pickup from the district, then put the bagged piece out on the arranged day. A load taken to the Trans-Jordan Landfill is charged differently, with the first three pieces in the load included in the minimum fee and each further piece priced per piece at the gate.
Get it ready
Bag every mattress and box spring before the pickup, because the district states that unbagged pieces are not collected. Landfill vouchers do not cover mattresses, so a voucher load is not an option for bedding.
Household material the carts and the specialty service will not take goes to a landfill, either on a district voucher or at the gate rate.

Residential loads taken to the landfill, or a covered load on a district voucher valid for cars, SUVs, pickups up to one ton and hand-unloaded trailers. Vouchers are not valid for mattresses, tires or freon-containing units.
When & how
Request a digital voucher for a covered load, or drive to the Trans-Jordan Landfill Monday to Saturday. The landfill is closed on Sundays, New Year's Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Get it ready
Tarp and secure every load, because an untarped load is charged double. Leave asbestos, dead animals, liquid and septic loads, unopened drums and registered vehicles or trailers at home, and route lawn mowers only after the gas and oil are removed.
The district collects the garbage can and the recycling can every Thursday, except in a week where New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day falls, when collection resumes on the Friday. Cans go out with the lids able to close and at least three feet from vehicles, mailboxes, signs and other cans.
The specialty curbside collection charges a base pickup rate for the household before any item rate, and the base is higher for canyon community addresses and for households outside the district. Mattresses, box springs, tires and appliances are then priced per item on top of that base, and the current amounts are listed on the district's specialty service page.
Every mattress and box spring must be bagged before a specialty pickup, because the district states that unbagged pieces will not be collected. Landfill vouchers do not cover mattresses, so bagging is the route.
All loads going to the Trans-Jordan Landfill must be fully tarped and secured or a double fee applies, which mirrors the Utah law the district quotes for voucher loads. The landfill takes no cash, so bring a credit or debit card.

$26 for the adopted monthly basic service fee for weekly collection of one garbage can and one recycling can, an annual equivalent of $312. Residential accounts in the district service area. An additional garbage can costs $70 to start and $19.50 a month.
Arrange it
Put both cans out on the Thursday collection day with the lids able to close and at least three feet of clearance. Report problems to the district on 385-468-6325 during business hours.
Only the two cans are included. Extra material needs the specialty service, an extra can subscription or a landfill trip, and overflow outside the can is not collected.
