Take the piece to Reworld Alexandria at 5301 Eisenhower Avenue, open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 6 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., check in at the scale house and use the bypass lane on the far right.
Get it ready
Keep the load inside the 500 pound weekly limit, plan to unload the vehicle yourself because employees cannot help, keep household trash out of the load, and keep refrigerators, air conditioners and dehumidifiers out because Reworld refuses refrigerant units.
Trash and recycling go out on the designated Monday through Thursday collection day, no earlier than 5 p.m. the day before and no later than 6 a.m. on the collection day, and from May 1 through September 30 everything has to be out before 6 a.m. because crews start an hour earlier to avoid the heat.
Residents with proof of residency at the scale house may drop small amounts of metal, non-metal items, brush and yard waste once a week up to 500 pounds free of charge at Reworld Alexandria at 5301 Eisenhower Avenue, using the bypass lane on the far right, unloading the vehicle themselves, and keeping household trash, stumps, rocks, dirt, sand, pressurized cylinders and refrigerant appliances out of the load. Contractors are turned away from the residential drop off.
