Appliances are the first category named in the Antioch large item pickup, including dishwasher, washer, dryer, refrigerator, stove, hot water heater, freezer, air conditioner and swamp cooler, so a kitchen or laundry clear-out fits the free curbside allowance.
City cost & eligibility
No charge. Included in the two free large item pickups per residence each year, scheduled in advance with customer service. More than two pickups in a year carries a fee.

Get it ready
Keep the appliance out of all three carts and set it at the curb for the scheduled pickup. Empty the unit first.
Place carts out by 6 a.m. or the night before the collection day, next to the curb and at least three feet away from other carts and vehicles. The cart weight limit is 150 pounds, lids have to be completely closed, and a resident may be charged for extra material that overflows. Recycling and organics go in loose, with food scraps only in paper or BPI-certified compostable bags.
The large item pickup is not a standing collection day. Residents get two of them free each year and have to arrange each one in advance through customer service or the online account tools, then put the item at the curb on the confirmed day. Extra pickups within the same year are collected for a fee.

No charge. Two free large item pickups per residence each year under the city franchise, scheduled in advance. Items beyond the two pickups in the same year are collected for a fee.

Can you take a washing machine and dryer in one pickup?+
Yes. Add one Washing machine and one Dryer so both units are included in the price. They are separate items, even when you bought them as a set. If yours is a single combined unit or the machines still need to be unstacked, contact us before booking to confirm the scope.
Will you disconnect my appliance or carry it out?+
Dropcurb picks up appliances that are already disconnected and accessible outside at ground level. Arrange uninstallation, utility disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Use a qualified professional for gas, hardwired or plumbing connections when needed. We handle loading and haul-away from the outdoor pickup spot.
Can I book if the delivery company did not take my old appliance?+
Yes. Dropcurb pickup is separate from buying or installing a replacement, so you can book removal on its own. Select the old appliance, choose a pickup day and arrange for it to be disconnected and accessible outside. If your new delivery is still ahead, confirm the retailer’s haul-away arrangements before booking a separate pickup.
Where does a refrigerator or washer go in Antioch?+
