City cost & eligibility
No charge. Included in the two free large item pickups per residence each year, scheduled in advance. Additional pickups within the year carry a fee.
When & how
Book a large item pickup by calling customer service at 925.685.4711, then set the mattress out on the confirmed collection day.
Get it ready
Keep the mattress out of all three carts and set it at the curb for the scheduled pickup. Leave it dry and make sure it does not block the carts or the sidewalk.
Place carts out by 6 a.m. or the night before the collection day, next to the curb and at least three feet away from other carts and vehicles. The cart weight limit is 150 pounds, lids have to be completely closed, and a resident may be charged for extra material that overflows. Recycling and organics go in loose, with food scraps only in paper or BPI-certified compostable bags.
The large item pickup is not a standing collection day. Residents get two of them free each year and have to arrange each one in advance through customer service or the online account tools, then put the item at the curb on the confirmed day. Extra pickups within the same year are collected for a fee.

An Antioch household with an appliance, a couch, a mattress, tires or electronics that will not fit the carts and is on the large item list.
Cost & conditions
No charge. Two free large item pickups per residence each year under the city franchise, scheduled in advance. Items beyond the two pickups in the same year are collected for a fee.

Only two free pickups a year, each one must be booked in advance, and the covered categories are appliances, furniture and mattresses, tires and electronics. Green waste and construction material are not part of this allowance.

Dropcurb starts outside. You arrange to move the mattress out of your apartment and down interior stairs before pickup. We load it and take it away from an accessible outdoor spot. Check your building’s access rules before arranging the move outside.
Can you pick up my old mattress when my new one arrives?+
You can choose an offered pickup day around your replacement delivery. First check whether the retailer already includes old-mattress removal, and arrange who will bring it outside if needed. Dropcurb books a pickup day, not the retailer’s delivery window. Contact us before booking if access is limited to a short time.
