Can I take my own load to the Yolo County Central Landfill?+
Yes. The landfill at 44090 County Road 28H in Woodland is open Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and every load is weighed at the scale house, where payment is by cash, check or credit card. Where do Davis paint, batteries and fluorescent bulbs go?+
Any household that lives in Yolo County can take paint, batteries, cleaning products, propane canisters, medicines, fluorescent bulbs and tubes and other chemicals to the Yolo County Central Landfill free on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and the landfill takes paint, batteries, electronics and fluorescent bulbs and tubes from residents free every day during normal hours. Can I just leave a couch or mattress on the street?+
No. The city says illegally dumping household trash, mattresses and furniture around cans and dumpsters is expensive to clean up, and leaving furniture, mattresses or other household items in front of a property or on the street and sidewalk is a City Code violation and a safety hazard for bicyclists and pedestrians.
