The Front Range Landfill recycles white goods including dishwashers, dryers, furnaces, hot water heaters, stoves and washers at a published per item rate, while refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners are refused there and need the refrigerant route.

$80 per white good delivered to the Front Range Landfill for recycling. Open to the public at the Front Range Landfill, which names dishwashers, dryers, furnaces, hot water heaters, stoves and washers in its white goods recycling list. Refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners are not accepted there.
When & how
Take the appliance to the Front Range Landfill on Weld County Road 5, open Monday to Friday from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., and keep a refrigerant unit out of the load entirely. The town Recycling Center accepts mixed metals but names household appliances among the items it does not accept.
Get it ready
Empty the unit, remove or secure the doors, and take the appliance to the white goods area rather than leaving it in a mixed household load. Keep anything that once held refrigerant out of both the landfill load and the Recycling Center.

When & how
Book the unit into a spring or fall clean-up event at the Leon A. Wurl Service Center, take it to the Boulder hard-to-recycle facility on Arapahoe Road during its Monday to Saturday hours, or call one of the Weld County appliance scrap options before the unit leaves the property.
Get it ready
Empty and defrost the unit, take the doors off so it cannot be entered, and confirm with the receiving site that it will take a refrigerant unit and what paperwork it wants. Do not put a refrigerator, freezer or air conditioner out with a mixed household load or in a curbside bulky pile.
The Recycling Center is free, resident only and does not take bulky goods
The town Recycling Center at 1000 Briggs Street is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. seven days a week, holiday and weather permitting, and dropping off accepted materials is free to Erie residents who show proof of residency. It takes single-stream recycling, flattened cardboard, yard waste and food scraps, mixed metals and gently used clothing and shoes, but it does not accept furniture, mattresses, rugs, carpet or household appliances, and it refuses Freon units, tanks, oil filters, asbestos and radioactive material. Visitors check in with staff, unload their own material and leave nothing outside the bins.
Landfill loads are tarped, weighed and priced by vehicle
The Front Range Landfill inside Erie is open Monday to Friday from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., closed Sundays and on some holidays. All vehicles weigh in and out on certified scales, and the landfill prices a car load, a pickup load below the top of the cab, and a pickup load above the cab at different flat rates, with tonnage rates and minimum charges for household waste and for wood, concrete, drywall, siding and dirt. Loads must be covered, tarped and secured or they are charged double, and anyone who gets out of a vehicle needs a reflective safety vest.
The landfill refuses refrigerant units, electronics and hazardous material
The Front Range Landfill does not accept refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, batteries, electronic waste, hazardous waste, hot ashes, liquids including paint and oil, mercury fluorescent bulbs, propane containers, tires or toxic waste. Electronic devices have been banned from Colorado landfill disposal since July 1, 2013. Those categories move to the town clean-up events, the Boulder hard-to-recycle facility, the Boulder County hazardous waste facility or the Weld County sites, so plan the load in two parts rather than mixing them.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.

Attend the spring or fall clean-up event at the Leon A. Wurl Service Center on 150 Lambert Avenue, which has recently run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The town also runs a free resident landfill drop-off week each spring and fall, most recently from September 9 to 16, and requires a reflective safety vest at the landfill.
Events run on announced days only, the details are subject to change, and the free landfill week needs a tarped load that sits level with the truck or trailer bed. Shredding is offered at the fall event only, limited to two banker box sized loads per resident, and large tractor or agricultural tires are refused.

Loads must be covered, tarped and secured or they are charged double, and anyone who exits a vehicle needs a reflective safety vest, sold on site for 8 dollars.
Monday to Friday from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., closed Sunday, with shortened hours on some holidays and closures for high winds or severe weather. All vehicles weigh in and out on certified scales, and the office answers at 303-673-9431.
From $141 per car load, with a pickup charged 175 dollars when the waste stays below the top of the cab and 236 dollars when it rises above it. Open to the public. Tonnage loads are charged 98 dollars per ton with a 196 dollar minimum for household waste and the same rate for wood, concrete, drywall, siding and dirt, white goods are 80 dollars each, and a couch or a mattress is 74 dollars each.

An item fee applies on top of the facility fee for mattresses and bedding, displays, monitors and televisions, printers and miscellaneous electronics, small plastic appliances, refrigerant appliances and concrete, while computers, mobile phones, tablets and bikes carry no item fee. Mouldy or infested bedding is refused, and the facility is closed on Sundays and can close for extreme weather.
Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm, closed Sundays, with the facility reachable at (303) 444-6634 to check for weather closures. The facility sits on Recycle Row next to Resource Central, and no appointment is needed.
$3 per vehicle entering the facility as a facility fee, charged before any item fee. Any household, because the facility states that place of residence does not determine whether you can use it or affect fees. The facility fee is waived for customers arriving by bicycle, and item fees for the categories listed above are charged on top.
