We currently accept the doors, toilets and bathroom vanities listed here, already detached and ready outside. Choose each item separately. Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted, including in bags.
Doors
Count each detached door panel separately. Have it removed from its hinges before pickup. A whole installed doorway or garage door is not the same item.
Toilets
Choose Toilet for an ordinary household toilet that has already been disconnected, drained and moved outside. Text a photo before booking if yours is broken or has loose sharp pieces.
Bathroom vanities
Choose the small, standard or large bathroom vanity that matches your sink cabinet. A makeup table has a separate choice. Plumbing disconnection and removal from the wall happen before pickup.

Up to one cubic yard of miscellaneous debris or construction material is collected every week at no additional charge, with published limits on how it has to be stacked, bundled and containerised. Anything beyond that, or an off-day pickup, needs a call to the operator and carries an extra charge.
City cost & eligibility
The first cubic yard each week carries no additional charge, and the operator publishes extra charges for more than that, for an extra or off-day pickup, and for special arrangements on oversized loads. Confirm the size of the load with Groot on 847-734-6400 before the material goes to the curb.
When & how
Put up to one cubic yard out on the normal collection day, and call Groot in advance for anything larger or for a pickup outside the service day.
Get it ready
Stack or bundle the material no longer than 4 feet and no more than 2 feet in diameter, roll and tape carpeting to the same limits, and put stone, concrete or dirt only in containers weighing no more than 45 pounds each.
The village divides Arlington Heights into four quadrants so that refuse, recycling and landscape waste are all collected on the same day, with the operator working between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Everything has to be at the curb by 7 a.m. and the hauler will not come back for anything that was not out. Carts may not sit in the street, must be 10 feet from parkway trees and mailboxes and 4 feet from other carts, must come off the curb by 8 a.m. the day after collection, and may not be stored in the front yard. A holiday on a Saturday changes nothing, while a holiday on a Sunday or a weekday pushes the rest of that week back one day.
This is the unusual part of the Arlington Heights program: the operator publishes unlimited bulky items on the regular residential service and names furniture such as a couch, dresser or chair, a mattress and box spring, a lawn mower, a bicycle and a grill. White goods are also named, covering refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, washers, dryers, dishwashers, hot water tanks and dehumidifiers, collected once a week at no extra cost when the household calls Groot on 800.244.1977 to schedule and keeps the unit off the curb until the evening before. Up to one cubic yard of construction material a week is collected at no additional charge as well. The counterweight to all of this is the operator's own warning that a piece too big or too heavy for its crew may be left behind, in which case a special arrangement and a special charge follow.

Any Arlington Heights household on the village contract with a couch, mattress, appliance, grill, bicycle or a cubic yard of renovation material to clear.
Cost & conditions
The bulky items are part of the refuse service the household already pays for rather than a separate priced product, so no per item figure is published for a standard piece. The operator states that an oversized or overweight item may be left for a special arrangement and that special charges then apply, and that extra or off-day pickups carry an extra charge. Can a door, toilet and vanity go in the same pickup?+
Yes. Add each listed fixture separately and choose the correct vanity size. Each detached door panel counts as one item. The combined price appears before you book. Keep the fixtures together outside, separate from anything staying, and add a location photo on your order page.
