Keep the piece out of the carts, remove loose cushions and drawers so nothing blows away, and keep anything reusable out of the pile and offer it for donation first.
The village divides Arlington Heights into four quadrants so that refuse, recycling and landscape waste are all collected on the same day, with the operator working between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Everything has to be at the curb by 7 a.m. and the hauler will not come back for anything that was not out.
